Thailand- Hua Hin

Thailand- Hua Hin
I am thinking of a 9 night stay here in October and an overnight stay in Bangkok. taking my mum so want a quieter but pretty resort with good food and lots to see and walk around. Overall just a relaxng time required .
Had a quote for the Anatara - anyone been?
any thoughts/suggestions welcome as I know you baggers are top for tips!

You should check out the Dusit resort + polo club - it is wonderful - stayed there a few years ago - it has a nicer beach than Hua Hin itself I think, and is only 10 mins (cheap) by tuk Tuk. Although since I went there do seem to have been a lot more hotels opening.
I really enjoyed Hua Hin (went during the world cup and there are a few streets in the middle filled with pubs and restuarants that were open till about 5 am  each night.

I went to Hua Hin this February and it was the most amazing experience I have ever had.
We stayed in the Aleenta resort ( and Spa - it was a deal that we saw last Summer in Elle magazine for a 10 night hol and believe me it was fantastic. Even got an upgrade to the Penthouse!
We were directly on the Pramburi (sp?) beach and hardly saw a soul.
I'll never forget the wonderfully intoxicating smells, sounds and sights. I would go back there at the drop of a hat.
Have a fantastic time.

thanks little annie
Can you walk from the aleenta to beach restaurants and things? I like to be abel to go otu for dinner and wander aroudn adn choose soemwhere along the ebach. The antara sounds great but miles away form anywhere
Oh I am getting excited!

I went to Hua Hin for my honeymoon last year and stayed at the anantara. It was a gorgeous hotel and I couldn't fault it in anyway.
I could ramble on about it for hours!! If you want to ask me anything then feel free!!
