Sri Lanka in October.......

Sri Lanka in October.......
I am off to Sri Lanka in the last 2 weeks of October and I am staying in Negombo (west side of the island) I can't wait to go but have a few concerns about the weather???? I am hoping that it doesn't rain much there at that time of year.
I was wondering if anyone has been at this time and can let me know what the weather was like and is there much to do in Negombo???
Thank you..

Hiya,
It could be rather wet so you'll want to be prepared for it. From the BBC Country Guide
Most of the country has an abundant or moderate rainfall that is well distributed throughout the year. The southwestern coast and mountain slopes are the wettest regions and here rainfall is greatest during the periods April to June and October to November.
