I worked in Majorca last summer. Your best bet is to get out there early I'd say April/ May to make sure that you get a job and an apartment easily.
Accommodation: I went in June and it was a lot harder to find somewhere to live. It's generally easier if you're on your own because people normally have 1 space in their apartments rather than loads of spaces. Rent in Magaluf was about 70 euros a week although it did depend on where you stayed and how long for etc. We rented in a hotel that catered for 18-30's but the owner kept some rooms back for workers. A lot of the people that own the bars have apartments which they rent out to workers but these along with other privately rented places charge a damage deposit etc. Also make sure you check how long the minimum rental period is because if anything does go wrong or you need to get home for some reason this can be a pain.
Jobs: Pr work is definitely the easiest to get, normally you have a trial which may be paid or unpaid (be careful about this because some places keep you going on 3 night trials and then don't pay you just so they can get free work). You just have to be really outgoing and you'll be fine. The hours vary obviously depending on the place, some bigger clubs have daytime shifts as well as nightime shifts, generally bars have shorter working hours than the clubs as they close earlier. Be careful as in some places Pr's are illegal but they still hire them and when the police come round you have to hide or you will probably get arrested.
Waitressing is a good job if you want to work in the daytime, I personally wouldn't recommend it as it is quite hard work for the pay and most people will be working at nights so you'll be on your own waiting for them to finish before you go out.
I wouldn't recommend bar work, especially at the clubs, the hours are really long (from 10pm-6am sometimes) and the pay is about the same as Pr's, obviously you do get tips but they aren't massive.
I'm not sure about working at a hotel, it could be more difficult. The only reason I'm saying this is because I'm doing a year abroad starting in July from my uni course and I applied to work at a hotel for 6 months as an intern so I'm not sure if they apply the majority of people this way.
Obviously what I've said depends on where you're going. In Magaluf the bars and clubs opened until the same time every night (very late), in Malia everywhere closed earlier in the week.
Book into a hotel for a week when you get there and on your 2nd/3rd night start looking for a job and an apartment. Get phone numbers and ask everyone.
If you need any more advice feel free to ask me. There's loads more I know but this post is long enough!

No I went with my boyfriend and one of my friends, another came out to join us later on. We couldn't all live together though. I worked at a couple of places, for the first few weeks I worked at a bar but only at the little portable bar at the front, it was shorter hours but very quiet as the season hadn't really got going. After that I worked as a shot girl in a club, those jobs are easier as you can pick and choose your work hours but it's all based on commission so you have to be motivated all the time. My boyfriend worked as a Pr and my friend worked in a bar so I have info about all of the jobs.
For my first week I was in a half board hotel so just took enough for spending money and lunch. I got a job in that first week so started being paid then, pay is very low though, I think I got about 40 euros so if you think you're going to want more for shopping or trips or anything make sure you take it. Also the doctors charge quite a lot, it is covered on your insurance but you have to pay for it while you're there. I was quite lucky because our apartment didn't need a damage deposit but you should take money for that or at least have enough in your bank because you probably won't earn enough in the first week to cover it.
I don't know much about Ibiza, from what I heard in Magaluf it was more expensive and harder to get a job as they are more strict about Pr's, quite a lot of the Pr's in Magaluf had come over from Ibiza. Another good thing about Magaluf was the workers card, basically as soon as you start working apply for one and you get into most of the clubs for free (apart from BCM unless you work there but it's still cheaper) and drinks are 1 or 2 euros so you definitely save a lot!
