Florida park tickets
Florida park tickets
Hi there,
Can anyone help me out I'm going to Disney Land, Florida in December and have the flights and villa booked but am stuck on park tickets!!
I've never been before and I want to cram as much into a week as possible but there seems to be a million and one different combination of tickets to buy!!!
Any recommendations of what must be seen?? Where can I get the best deals on tickets?
Thanks!

OK, if it's the first time you've been then a week is nowhere near enough to cram everything in. You'll need a day at each of the universal parks (islands of adventure + universal studios) which you must see and a day at Magic Kingdom. The first time we went was for 14 days and we couldn't fit everything in.
There are actually 4 main Disney parks (Magic Kingdom is a must, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and MGM). If your only going for a week i would probably give Animal Kingdom and MGM a miss and save them for next time as a week is just such a short time. However if you think your legs will take it then go for all 4 parks :D I would recommend visiting 2 parks in one day. You could probably go to Animal Kingdom first thing then head over to MGM in the afternoon. I didn't actually think too much of Epcot but other people love it but it's got to be seen :D
We're going in October and bought our tickets from Attraction-tickets direct.
If your going to do the two days at Universal Studios then probably the best bet is the 2 day/ 2 park ticket. That will give you the 2 days you will need there and the good thing is you can visit one park for the day but pop over to the other park to have a look around before you spend the second day there as the tickets are interchangable between the parks.
HOWEVER
If you intend to go to Seaworld (and i would recomend it) then maybe the 7 day, 4 park flexi ticket priced at £105 might be your best bet. Within the 7 days you can visit both universal parks, Seaworld AND wet and wild (which we never bother with) as many times as you like. If you just go for the 2 day 2 park Universal ticket and only opt for the one day seaworld that total will only come to £94 so it really depends on how much you want to do with the Universal and Seaworld bit.
NOW ON TO DISNEY
Again i'm really not sure what or how much you want to do but if you can afford it then the 7 day premium ticket might be the best idea. It's not cheap at £155 but it gives you the freedom to do what you want. You can actually do 2 or 3 parks in a day :D When we went 2 years ago we bought this ticket and what we did we went to Animal Kingdom in the morning and didn't think much of it and only spent 2 hours there. Then we caught the free Disney bus outside and transfered over to MGM studios and spent 3 hours over there then caught another bus over to Magic Kingdom for the evening parade and fireworks. This 7 day ticket really gives you the freedom to do what you want.
Now don't forget the shopping :D You will need one or two days OFF from the parks to go shopping. You have to visitPremium Outlets and i would also recomend visiting the Belz retail outlet. It covers a very large area. Belz and premium are both on the I-Ride trolley route but at opposite ends of I-Drive.
So to recap you will definately need a day at each of the Universal studios parks, a day at Seaworld maybe and at least 2 days doing the Disney parks plus the 2 days for shopping and that gives you your week. :D
Your total cost will be
Disney 7 day preium ticket £155
2 Day/2 Park Universal ticket £59
1 day Seaworld £35
(the seaworld + universal ticket can be replaced by the flexi ticket for an extra £11 if you think you'll use it which i doubt you will)

We went 3 years ago for the first time and thought it was going to be a one off trip. It was amazing. When my wife saw the Disney parade at Magic Kingdom she was left in tears of joy as it was something she never ever thought she would see. Our daughter was 15 at the time and had the time of her life. We missed so much as we couldn't fit everything in in 2 weeks so we went back the following year :D
Our daughter is 18 in October and we asked her what she wanted.
A Party?
Money?
Driving lessons?
No she wanted to go back to Orlando and swim with Dolphins actually on her birthday. Which is why we're going back in 7 weeks time :D
