First Treatment Given from Reiki 1
Hello All,
First post here, have been attuned to reiki 1twelve days ago via distant attunement (another subject). My good friend is Reiki master and he has attuned me. Love readingall the posts, bit overwhelming as there is so much information and so so many different healing methods! I like things simple.
All seems well, have been practicing self healing when possible, in bed, in the office, in the car, at the football and love the sensations I get. My girlfriend is what seems to be "energy sensitive". Last night I did 30 minute treatment on her and she started off seeing red, then orange and then yellow, her hands became very hot for most of the session and she felt the localised heat. My hands kind of felt stinging hot but without the heat if that makes sense.
I know about the colour for our chakras but does anyone know whatthe energy was doing? and if the sensations in her hands indicate anything?
If a distant attunement works, I have a certificate, should I still search out a one on one attunement? Kind of feel like I could stand more confidently in the future if I can say had one on one from what issaid.
I am located in Darlington and if anyone knows of shares in that area I would love to come.

Hi Jo - lovely to read your posting. I am not happy about distant attunements, but as you say, that is a different subject. As you have only just been attuned to Reiki 1, you should not, in my opinion, be working on anyone else yet. You need to work on yourself for 21 days inorder to cleanse yourself.. Then, once your body is in balance, after what is in fact a huge change in energy, then you can consider healing family and friends.
The colours your partner saw are most likely the chakra colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Her hands feeling hot probably indicates that she is a healer too.
Have you recieved a Reiki 1 manual, or just an attunement?
When giving Reiki healing, different people feel it differently at different times. Very rarely the same twice, and sometimes you don't even feel anything - you just get to KNOW that its happening. PM me if you would like a Reiki manual.
If you feel you want a Reiki 1 one to one attunement - that is your choice. If the distant one has worked, why need another one;)

thank you very much for feelings/ideas, I do need them. I have been given a manual and I have purchased a few books, William Rand, Penelope Quest and just ordered the Sourcebook.Do these books contain what is in your manual? You are right, do need to concentrate on self healing, am one of those run before I can walk.
The change is quite incredible, I work in coffee industry, and enjoyed 2-3 strong espresso coffees per day plus coke plus lots of fattening foods, mainly pastries. I have not had coffee for 2 weeks (had 1) eating like I never have and have not had to think about it, is just sort of happening, just feel like having healthy stuff and that feeling is extremely foreign!
Your comment about girlfriend maybe being a healer makes me think because when I was getting distant attunement I used our room as quiet area and she was dead tired so went to bed in daughters bed and she felt the reiki for about 5 minutes when I was getting attuned! Do you think she could of been attuned? How would she know, I guess if she puts her hands on me or herself? mmm, 2 of us vying for reiki supremacy in one household!

Welcome to the Reiki 'family'! I think it is wonderful that you are aware of the energy flowing and for your partner to pick up the colours. Keep working on yourself and things will only get better!
I laughed when I read about the coffee. I used to drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day before my first attunement. From that day on I couldn't touch the stuff, even the smell of coffee made me feel quaesy lol! I know what you mean, it feels as if the energy is sorting out the body to make it a clear vessel to flow through. I'm not complaining though lol!

Many of my students have given up Coke, wine, coffee etc and turned to healthy options after attunements - it seems as if its par for the course:DI dont touch coffee, coke or wine now - although I can't resist champers if its on offer - I get tiddly on just the bubbles :D
I suspect that your girl friend was attuned at the same time as you. Get her to read the manuals as well. Believe it or not, I felt that I got my first attunement by just reading Diane Steins Essential Reiki - oh dear, I've actually answered the question on distant attunements -[sm=FIFangel.gif]
Its great when your partner is into Reiki as well. Both Bob and I are Reiki Masters, and usually heal others together - the oomph is fantastic;)

Thanks ReikiAngel. This whole cleansing business is amazing for me, I am known for my eating prowess! Was not my conscience choice to eat better, amazing power reiki. Concentrate on self healing now.
I find that when I am talking about reiki, or reading about reiki the energy seems stronger.

IF distant attunement work !? Yes they do, you feel it don't you? I have a number of students that I distantly attuned. My friend in the Shetlands is distant attuned, her Master was in Caithness, she had no way of being attuned on the island and therefore found her Master and he attuned her to R1 then later R2, when she wanted to become a Master he went over to the Shets to attune her to that,as there was just so much for her to learn.
Each of my students get a full paper manual,full certificate too and me when ever they feel a need to contact.I see no reason why distant healing works and attunements wouldn't, after all it is our guides that do the attuning we just give the guidence when it is needed. But as you say that is another thread.
You may find you go off certain things and go for certain foods, some things that were often done may also fall by the way side as no longer needed. Continue with your self healing throughout your life not just "for christmas" lol 21 days, ( uncle rico ;)), the more you use the reiki the stronger it gets. Drink plenty of fresh clear water to help your cleanse too.
Enjoy your life with Reiki in it, you are loving r1 you'll be blown away with r2.then as ready Masters. I'm a Master but truly love R2 the best. :);)lyn

Exactly right, of course it works, I love putting my hand on my heart and feel the warmth go down. You know it is all pretty weird though, when treating g/f last night, kind of saw myself from above and thought why would you believe?
My g/f last night was exhausted but had extremely racy head as had busy day. Did 30 minutes of reiki, she then lay down on her back, had this trance like grin, said she felt wonderful and proceeded to snore!! Brillliant! Not seen that smile when I done other things;).
I can't wait for R2, have seent the symbols but will wait until ready with master.
How do you find out about guides, angels etc. Do I already have one?

Hi Jo,
Guides and Angels are not an inherent part of Reiki, they are more of a personal belief, although you will find plenty of people who do work with Angels, Guides and Spirits along with their Reiki.

Div' We are all born with an Angel and Guide , a main guide,but other guides come in when we have things to learn and we need a nudge in the right direction.
You could find a development group,some are to be found at Spiritualist Churches, or you may find a Medium via a reading that offers Development too, others on here will also tell you about development etc,some will explain how to meet your guides etc too.
Don't forget to ground when doing the healing too, as for thatsatisfied grin on g/f face, you know what to aim for now boy ! lol lol lol ;)lyn

hi div, Grounding. Before you do any type of Spiritual or healing work etc, you should ground yourself, some also do a protecting ritual too. Grounding means you root your self to the earth, if you fail to ground yourself or who ever you treat you and they can be very light headed after treatments/ floaty.
To Ground.
imagine that you have roots coming out of your feet and going into the ground like a tree, tie yourself tightly into the earth, you can test how tight you are ground by lifting each foot up and down, if they come up easy send in more roots, do it till you feel some resistance/ heavyness.
To Protect
imagine bringing a bright white tube of light down from the universe when it reaches above your head imagine turning a tap on and letting this white light flow all over you covering you in a big bubble of light, feel it covering you,warm , safe, and secure, You are now protected.
The protection is (as some say) to protect you from Negative energy / lower Spiritual energies.
You should be able to find in your manual a section on Grounding and Protection.
Others may like to tell you other ways of G & P, and why you should do this, it's a case of every one has different ways, I find mine easy,others may have an easier way too. The more info you can collect the more you can find ways to suit you. ;)lyn
