Hi there,:) I think I would consider each case indivually. You need to take into the account the health and emotions of the person you are treating. Obviously some may be in reasonable health, I'm not sure coz don't know what kind of work you are doing and with what stage of the disease. Consider any other health complaints too, not just the HIV.
I would veer towards blends that are uplifting, calming, ones that ease the mood ie sadness, depression, anger etc.
Good choices would be: frankincense (calming, opens the chest, deepends breathing, good for panic), Sandalwood (wonderful aroma, calming, relaxing, good for dry skin etc etc), orange (good for stress, anger, insomnia and also uplifting), bergamot (natural anti-depressant). Endless really!
Hope that helps a bit.[:-]

I work with HIV+ clients and agree that you need to look beyond the HIV and treating according to the individual and their needs at the time as they vary so much from week to week, i agree that the oils that are uplifting are often great ones though, also i have one clients who loves vetivert ( one of my faves too ) and always likes that being used.......sotty im not much help!!!! just putting in my two peneth worth while im logged in !
Best of luck with it! sounds like its going great though.

Hi, Just to add a bit more - there is a good synopsis of different oils which can be used for various symptoms. The article is called:
AIDs, HIV and Aromatherapy by Lyn Gardenchild and Martin Watt
and can be found on CompTogether at:
