Hypnotherapy treatment

Has anyone on here had hypnotherapy and it worked? I am going to use it for weight loss.
Thanks :)

Answers:

Yes, I've had hypnotherapy and I can honestly say that it works.
People seem to fear it for some reason, believing they will totally lose all control and memory of what has gone on. This is how it's portrayed on TV stage hypnosis, but you don't get that sort of thing in a professional therapy situation.
Go along, enjoy, and feel the benefit.

Hi,
I've had hypnotherapy and got over several phobias, and also conquered my comfort eating!
I was so impressed that I trained and am now a hypnotherapist, so get to see other people making changes to their lives by breaking those patterns that have been holding them back.
Let us know how you get on!

I might just give it a go, thanks :)

So true :)

If hypnotherapy was how it is portrayed on telly, I wouldn't consider it. Will keep you posted, ta!

Answers:

Make sure you go and see your GP beforehand, although a good hypnotherapist should require this anyway, to rule out any physical reasons for the weight issue.
Good luck!

From what I know, Hypnotherapy (Clinical Hypnotherapy) can be useful for many medical conditions, but I'd suggest contacting a hypnotherapist and asking them in relation to your own condition. Probably the easiest way to find a hypnotherapist near you is to either look in the Yellow Pages or to do a search on the web for "Hypnotherapist London". Phone around, speak to them and see who feels right for you.
It can definitely work for fears and phobias, as can many other therapies such as EFT, FREEWAY-CER, TAT, TFT, BSFF, NLP etc.

Hi Erin-Mya,
I have worked with someone with IBS and had fantastic results - much greater than either I or my client had expected! So my answer would be that it is definately worth a try as, reading your other post, any help would be welcome right now.
As for phobias, try to find someone who is trained in the VK technique, also known the the Rewind technique or the Fast Phobia cure (I hate that last one!). This borrows from an NLP technique, but used under hypnosis is very effective at removing the phobia with no need for any nasty "exposure" type therapy.
I'd suggest lookin at the General Hypnotherapy Register: or the Hypnotherapy Association: to find a therapist - neither of these are aligned with a particular school, and both verify the quality of the training schools whose "graduates" are allowed to join the organisations.
Hope that helps!

But from what you are saying its worth a try , and cuz i'm in so much pain at the mo I'm willing to give anything a go.
Thanks again , many hugs xx

I know a good hypnotherapist in London. Her name is Marcia Tucker. Her website is http://www.marciapeople.com/hypnotherapy.htm although as she is also a life coach and various other things, there isn't too much info on her website at the moment on hypnotherapy.
