New to this forum!

Hi,
I have been on my spiritual path for nearly four years, focusing mainly on Eastern philosophy and Paganism (mainly witchcraft) but have only recently noticed how my love of music (especially drumming), dancing and love of nature could have been linked subconsciously to Shamanism.
Drumming does seem to send me into an almost hypnotic state.
I am fascinated in past lives and am going for my first regression in two weeks with a hypnotist/psychotherapist who is also a Shamanic Healer. I hope she will be able to do some soul retrieval work on me too.
I recently watched Brother Bear with my daughters and loved the spiritual, shamanic messages which I hope to teach myself and my girls.
I recently became qualified in Indian Head Massage and will be taking courses in Acupressure and Reiki this autumn term. I am also learning colour therapy and hoping to join a clairvoyance circle in September.
Do Shamans use any form of divination or mainly rely on spirit/animal guides for guidance?. The reason I ask is that I have a strong interest in astrology and wonder if this fits in with Shamanism. I have yet to meet mine but I have strong affinities with dolphins, lions and recently noticed a robin visiting me daily and coming very close, I think I will have him eating out of my hand soon.
Can't wait to learn more. Haven't much time to read (although love to) so hope to find a local course/workshop to help me learn. I'm sure I'll pick up loads from this forum too.

Please let me know what you thought of Brother Bear. I watched it again the other day and still cried. I highly recommend it for adults as well as children.
I also want to see Spirited Away when it returns to our cinema kids club.
Bye for now

So what do you pray to, or do you pray?
What is witchcraft good for?
Not that I want to do it, but I have wondered for a
long time why people even bother to go there.
Shamanism is cool I can do this.
How has your religion affected your everyday life.
Do you feel connected to the Universal Consciousness as well,
or?
I don't know...
Help me out.
Oh,
And I want to say these people in your thread are really nice.
I mentioned one thing about connecting to your higher self in another
forum, and People got All "Holier than thou" on me.
Thank you all for being supportive to her instead of being rude.

In reply to your msg the best way for me to describe my current spiritual status is that I am still very much learning and the more I learn the more I identify with certain paths.
I was introduced to Buddhism by my brother who had started reading up on it and I was introduced to witchcraft and druidism by some pagan friends I met last year (yule time).
I have since met some very respectable spiritualists and whilst reading this forum have identified that my love of music (particularly drumming) and fascination with past lives, spirit communication appears to be very much linked to Shamanism and spiritualism. I would be interested to hear members opinions about whether they feel a link (I understand that Shamanism goes back much further and there is a deeper connection with animals.
I don't think I will ever commit to labelling myself as I have alot of respect for many religions and I feel that we should all be aiming for the same purpose, spiritual advancement, saving our planet and world peace. As long as you respect the earth, other people and animals then it doesn't really matter what you are.
As for who I pray to, I have always had trouble with perceiving God so I tend to connect to the universal energy. I shall be receiving my Reiki one attunement in December and starting in a clairvoyant circle in January.
I can't wait to connect!
Hope that this has explained things a little clearer.

Hi thought I would answer your questions one by one.
So what do you pray to, or do you pray?
I don't really pray as such, I usually ask for things or to be shown things that relate to me when I meditate, either in my medicine circle or when I do normal meditation. When I ask I normally do it in a way that ensures that I do it with a pure heart. I normally lay in a typical cross formation with arms out and legs together, to me that is how I respect the people I am praying to or asking things of.
I usually ask my protectors and guides for help, I ask god for help but I am drawn to Odin when I ask for help as he is looking over me and works with me when I need him to.
What is witchcraft good for? Witchcraft to me is akin to shamanism or druidry so I find it is part of my general ways, I have cast a few spells before. but I usually am drawn to what ever I am needing to know or do at any given time.
How has your religion affected your everyday life? It has affected every part of my life, my spirituality that is - I am not religious in the sense that I pray everyday or abide by rule. my spirituality is my way of life, I have become much more open to new things and am a very content person now, before I was dabbling and I was very confused about direction, but having found what works for me has allowed serenity and a sense of knowing that everything will work out to come flooding in. I still have worries and concerns like every body but things are now more in perspective.
It is a learning curve that never stops, I am alwasy learning new things or having new experiances that I cannot explain sometimes but I just take it as something I had to experiance so learn what I need and carry on.
Do you feel connected to the Universal Consciousness as well? Urrm I am connected more to the earth and its children more that a universal consciousness, I wouldn't say that I felt part of a huge community, but that may come in time, I have my guides and helpers and animals that I feel part of and that suits me at the moment.
Hope that has helped a bit.
with love

Well Hello everyone,
Very new to this and excited that I found this hidden gem.
I am happy to share that I am back on my path. I seem to let the demands of life take over what is really important. I have found a happy place to express myself.
Until next time

Lets clear somethign up here
Witchcraft is not bad, there are many forms of witchcraft/occult basicaly ocult means unseen. I am in touch with many o fmy past lives as i have been reclaiming back my power, as all of you are reclaiming your own power and identity.
I have been a witch on more than one ocasion and to soem I still am. Lol though I am working along side the divine ones I do not work in witches circles coverns etc. I just have a deep understanding of such ways which resonate with me.
