Reflex and blocked arteries
Has anyone had any experience or success in treating clients with Reflexology for blocked arteries? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Phew. Is the client having medical treatment now. Have they had blocked arteries cleared, or still have them.
If they currently have a blocked artery, ( life threatening condition) they need urgent medical attention and I would not treat them, as I would be concerned about increasing the circulation, among other things.
If they have had them cleared, I would treat them after they had the all clear from their GP.
Probably after about 4 weeks. But proceed with caution and use light reflexology with more massage, for the first few sessions. Stopping if any pains occur.

Interesting reply, Jan.
I would have thought that increasing the blood supply would have helped to overcome the blocking in the arteries by helping more blood to flow though the narrowed arteries.
Blocked arteries can and are helped by surgical methods but they can also be helped by dietary changes and supplements.

I was taking the problem as a total blockage Paul, thinking more of a clot.
As you say narrowing is a different matter. Depending on the degree.
I'd personally be cautious as one of the contra's I was taught was that increases in circulation can cause clots to break away and find a smaller area to block. I know of an incident following physiotherapy where this happened. I ask people if they have flown long haul recently, and check their legs if they have.
