Couches for Reiki
Forgot to mention, Can you help?
I am looking for a lightweight Reiki table to buy - I have found some for £700 but am ideally looking for summat around £200. The lightest is about 14kg and getting that in the car is a bit of a mission.
Any website links or advice would be appreciated
Thanks :-)

have a look at the HP auctions bit (theres a link at the top) there might be one on there. Otherwise do a search over all of the forums, I seem to remember there being a thread in the therpaies forum about massage couches and where to get them from :)

Hi Kaminari
You do not have to use a treatment couch for energy healing, you can do someone sat on a chair or lying on a settee or their bed or even the floor if you sit at the side of them with your legs crossed in front of you, where there is a will there is a way :-)

Dear Kaminari,
I use New Concept tables and think they're excellent:

Whatever couch you choose, make sure it has a centre leg. The clinic I work at paid £800 for a beautiful, portable, wooden based couch. But because it has no centre leg it's not particularly safe, particularly if you're treating larger or heavily pregnant clients.

Hi Kaminari,
I got mine in Costco if you have one near you. It is portable and was in the price range you are looking for and although it does go in the car I have to put the back seat down to get it in.
Good luck finding one :D

Hello,
A friend of mine was using a wallpapering table from B&Q. Of course adpated with foam etc. She syas they are sturdy, even for heavier clients. An alternative could one of those garden "beds/recliners". They are cheap and light weighted...

Quite correct, Artemis, about the pasting table from B & Q BUT it has to be their heavy-duty one which, with a covering of foam (perhaps having a sheet over it or a purpose-made cover) and a pillow and a blanket, makes atable that will take at least 17 stone.
Someone I know who weighs 17 stones has treatment on a table such as this.
The Cost of the Heavy Duty pasting table is about £ 30.00, the foam, depending on thickness, about £ 15.00 and the sheets, etc mean that you can bet kitted-out for less than £ 100.00.
Off you go, Kaminari, give everyone you know a jolly good pasting with Reiki :D:D:D

Fantastic advice from all - I will begin my scamper through the couch buying world. B&Q tables though? Not too sure about that but I will have a word with my incredibly talented husband who may be able to put summat together for me. It's the height thing really - I am 6ft so hate to bend over, should really invest in a stool with wheels in which case....
I also have an issue with the amount of time I can do a session for. After about 40 mins I feel like I am about to faint - whether I am on my feet or not weird eh?
Thanks again for all your advice -it's all gooood!

Hi Kaminari
Your treatments can be as long or as short as it feels right to you, with some of the energy systems 5 minutes will give a full treatment and others can take well over an hour, so you might find if you try one at 30 minutes and if that feels ok then you will be fine doing 30 minute treatments :-)
