Distant healing over time
Hi,
I have just read ( Penelope Quest - Reiki for Life) that it is possible to send a distant healing and programme the treatment to be received at the same time every day e.g.to be recieved every night for a week, instead of needing to send 7 individual treatments.
I was wondering whether anyone had tried this and whether the treatment would be just as effective sent this way and generally what you all thought about it? :)

I was taught how to send Reiki ahead for a specific date and time and have done so over the years. It does work because I have had feedback from the people I sent to and they have definately felt the energy!
As with everything with Reiki intent is the word. If you know you are going to be out/away/ill etc then you can set up the energy and then not have to worry that you have let anyone down by not being 'there'. Our Reiki share group sends healing for those named in a book for either physical or emotional healing and request that it continues until we meet again.

I agree with reikiangel, Intent is definitely the word. I used to think that distance was only something that could be done after doing reiki II until I read the end of reiki I chapter in PQ's Reiki for Life. So with the intent I gave it a go with the help of a couple of reiki friends and sure enough they could feel the energy, and that was only after reiki I. :)

A friend of mine was having sleepless nights and asked me to send Reiki. Since I wasn't about to sit up all night myself, I sent Reiki ahead and asked that it be available to him, every night, when his head hit the pillow, whatever time of the night/morning that might be.
I told him I likened it to me paying a fat cheque into his bank account for him to draw on in smaller amounts whenever he wanted to, but to ask me for a top-up if he felt it necessary. I did this just once, as I recall, before he resumed a more normal sleeping pattern. So the whole healing was very open and flexible with no time limits put on it in any way. Having sent the Reiki, I did firmly detach myself from the outcome, just in case!

If you decide to do Reiki 2 at some point, I think you may well find that your connection to the energy will be that much stronger, and this will be reflected in the degree of Reiki you are able to send.
On re-reading your post, I realise you may have already done this, but it reads as if you have Reiki 1, so apologies if I'm saying something you already know.

It all depends on your intent when you send the distant healing - rather like a slow-release vitamin C capsule - so that Reiki is available when it is required from the one Distant healing session.

Yes, Reiki 2 increases your hands-on healing ability, along with your spiritual development and intuitive capabilities. Distant healing techniques are taught, and practiced, together with other uses for the symbols.
So far this thread has been about sending Reiki ahead into the future, so I thought it might also be worth saying that, of course, Reiki can also be sent back into the past, for either oneself or someone else, to effect healing of a past situation - eg childhood trauma, relationship problems etc.

Interesting you mention sending back in time. I have been seeing a client now for over a year who had MANY emtional/physical issues. I first was contacted by her re Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, she was facing an operation that she didn't want yet. As I say to all my clients'you are like an onion- not because you are round and make me cry, but because you consist of many layers! The core problem has layers of other 'stuff' over it and what we do together is peel back each layer at a time until we reach the core'.
This lady had SO many layers! But the final one that just was not budging was a skin complaint in the genital area that she had suffered with for years and no ointment etc helped. Then one day, during our session I was sending Reiki back in time to whatever emotional problem triggered off this condition when I suddenly went back into a previous life!.
She was a foreign Countess living in this country in Victorian times (it felt). She had long black hair down to her waist and LOVED sex!! Because she was foreign and nobility this was overlooked by society and she would 'teach' the young bucks in the art of sex. I hasten to add she was not a prostitute, she never charged and only saw wealthy young men. I actually 'saw' her in her boudoir with a rich canopy over her large bed wearing a negligee!
I told her this after our session and she was very interested because she informed me she had had a reading a few years ago when she was told that in a previuos life she had liked sex and that it may have an impact on this life.
She agreed to let me try a past life healing session the next time we met. As soon as I started to feel I was in that life again I saw a very angry man. He had black hair slicked down and large sideburns and a moustache. He seemed about 50. His face was red with anger as he told me he was the father of one of her young bucks. My client had passed on a sexually transmitted disease to his son that he in turn had passed onto his young wife that had caused her to be barren. This man had been desperate for a grandson to carry on his name and title and as his son was an only child that would now never happen and his lineage would die out.
I asked for healing to be given to my client as she was then and to all those she infected. Suddenly I was shown her on her bed, eyes closed. Standing all around her were angels and they were bathing her in a beautiful golden light. I knew then that the healing was taking place. After that session she said it had felt totally different to all of the others and had felt a 'drawing' sensation in the area where she had the skin complaint! We agreed not to talk about what had happened for at least a week so as not to give energy to the area again, or that life's experience. I shall be seeing her in a week's time and it will be interesting to see if the skin complaint has healed.

Just a couple of small comments:
Carpel Tunnel Syndrome - this has been mentioned to me re some pain in my right hand. I think it's down to too much clutching of mouse (RSI), but you never know. ;)
Re the onion: My version is that it is the peeling away of the layers that can cause the tears!
Edited just to add an afterthought: Yes, I agree talking about it can put energy into a situation, but that can work both ways - "good" and "bad".

As for the Carpel Tunnel, when I first met this lady she couldn't even pick up a plate from the dishwasher or carry a carrier bag for more than 10 mins without it causing her pain or her grip went. NOW, she has been humping cement bags around her daughter's garden, has been doing some sewing repairs on another daughter's blouse and happily babysits her new grandsons with no fear of dropping them!!. How about that to illustrate the power of Reiki?!. lol. Hope you get sorted out what is going on with you, as you say it could be RSA.

I really do think that in my case it's down to the recent purchase of a new mouse of rather flat design, bought locally in a small shop where it was the only one available, and necessary because my previous one gave up the ghost.
My hand is really not that bad, more numb than painful, and perhaps a replacement mouse - a nice fat, rounded one - will help. :)

Hi Holistic and anyone else who may be interested!.
I have been to see my client today (the one mentioned in my previous posting). She told me that she had quite a lot of physical reactions for weeks after our session. She felt at one point as if she was going to have a period (she's 60 and they finished years ago), a lot of muscle cramps etc that took her by surprise! She said that now the skin in the genital area looks 'normal' and she is very happy about that because in the past it has been paper thin and torn easily when just going to the toilet. She still is aware that the condition has not totally gone yet because of irritation now and again, but, today she felt the area "tingling" not "drawing" like last time and that it didn't feel uncomfortable.
I feel that the last session brought everything from the past life into this life and brought it to a head? The colours she saw today were a royal purple and gold. She also told me that since we last met she has felt just a few drops of water landing on the top of her head when there has been nothing remotely wet near her. Not just once or twice but FOUR times!!! Even when with her husband it happened but he felt nothing and there was nothing around them to account for her sensation. I feel that she is being 'annointed', especially after telling me today about the colours she could see.

The purple and gold is interesting ... what does that combination of colours suggest to you? An Aura Soma bottle came into my mind, but I may be projecting here because I once picked out that combination at an Aura Soma talk/demo. And I seem to recall something to do with ancient Egypt, so while you're going back into past lives ..... just a thought. ;)
