No Chocolate??!!!
Hi,
I'm going to do Reiki 1 on the 1st August & I'm just wondering how important is it to keep off chocolate for 3 day's before hand:(....as a women who's in tune with the moon (if you know what I mean) & baring in mind that it's a full moon on the 31st of this month my craving for chocolate will be sky high.
Does it really matter too much if I don't give up chocolate....I can go without anything else ........... but chocolate[:o]

Hi,
please excuse my ignorance but why do you have to avoid chocolate?!!!
If it is to do a Reiki course then I don't understand the reasoning. All Reiki expects of us is an open mind and a willingness to work with, and respect , the energy.

Hello Amy
Can I join the club of what is this all about? A lot of people who smoke get attuned to Reiki. Chololate has caffine in it but is also has serotine which acts as calming effect. I have drunk tea while attending my reiki course and that has caffine. Would love to know who told you and why they think it is nesseccary. I hear some strange things on these pages.

Dear Amy,
There is absolutely no reason to give up anything or change your lifestyle before any Reiki Level.
Reiki will fit in with you and your lifestyle - including chocolate :D:D
Please relax and enjoy your class on the 1st August - why not take some chocolate with you? ;)

Well, that's the post Reiki Share tea time nibbles down the drain then! Drat!!
Seriously though, as others have said Reiki doesn't demand you give up anything. You may find your tatses change over time; you may not.
All things in moderation, and good wishes in abundance.

Phew......I was hoping you'd all say that.
I've read in a few places that chocolate & sweets are one of things you should avoid & cut back on cigarettes along with tea, coffee ect.
well thanks everyone for getting back to me.....I can stop fretting now as nothing will come between me & my beloved chocolate[sm=tongue.gif]

Dear Amy,
The only thing that can come between you and chocolate is you (or your body) deciding that you are having "too much" of it. But there is not cast in stone rule about how much is too much. I could give you a long list about why Traditinal Chinese Medicine does not like chocolate and sweets, but it would have NOTHING to do with Reiki.
So enjoy your attunemnt -and don't forget to bring some choc along to share with the rest of the group!

Hiya,
The only thing I found was that after being attuned to Reiki, I no longer craved chocolate or crisps (us computer programmers always sit in the office stuffing our faces with bad stuff). As a result I've lost half a stone. This Reiki diet required no will power. :D

Sounds promising for me.... so its ok for me to get p***ed over the weekend when at a hen party even though I have my second attunment on the following tuesday...?:D
It is funny how same reiki masters say to stay off certain things before attunement when there's no need.

when i did reiki 1 the master told us in advance to avoid a whole list of things one of which was chocolate, it was a sort of detox before the attunement. i did some of it and at least cut down my bad habits if i didnt give them up completely. Anyway on the day i said i was nipping to the shop in a break and of the others asked me to get chocolate which i did. the girl then offered round the choc obviously forgetting it was banned as i had when isaid i'd buy it for her. Our master got a bit sniffy and made some comment about taking the attunement seriously which left people looking a bit shamefaced but the chocolate didnt have any adverse effects on the attunement !! i ve since learnt that masters all seem to have their own add ins etc but the reiki works anyway. Now I would just reiki the choc before i ate it:D
