Hello Somerset
I am sure that there are lots of HP'ers who would be happy to help, but could you be a wee bit more specific please?
1. Whose persective are you talking about? Are you talking about this from the client's, or the therapist's perspective... i.e. 'how do I deal with my memories?', or 'how do I deal with my client having these memories?'.
2. What therapy is involved when these memories appear?
3. What (in general terms) is the client having therapy for?
4. Any other info you might think is relevant (age, sex, how long the therapist has known the client, etc)
Hoping we can help when we know a bit more about the circumstances!

Ok to put you in the picture I worked as a mind therapist for 12 years I am a hypnotherapist and also do breif work. In my years as a therapist I have also ways been very careful not to put thought ideas into client's heads when they are exploring issues or the past. I have alsways been open to hidden memories providedd they have come up from the client.
I now find myself in a situation where my daughter is claiming she has recalimed memories and has said they happend with her pychotherapist. I don't want to go into it too deeply here however due to a lot of information I have I am afraid to say I do not beleive her.

Hi Somerset,
Firstly, I hope she will be better soon.
With regards to the reclaimed memories, I use a hypnotherapy technique where I ask the client in deep hypnosis when was the first time they experienced something, followed by when was the first time they were told that thing, and compare.
