Aromatherapy after Surgery...

Hi,
I am an aromatherapist, and I have been asked to work on patients at a hospital. I can't find guide lines on post operative aromatherapy, except for a bit about cancer. Can someone help. I want to know what oils to use, if I have to wait a certain length of time after the operation, and any other details. Thanks

Answers:

Have you tried contacting the Bristol Cancer Centre. I realise it is not just for cancer patients, but they have vast knowledge and supply info.
Failing that, how about contacting other hospitals where this is already being done? A friend of mine works at St Thomas' in London and I know they provide this.
Hope that helps.

Answers:

have you tried contacting the organisation you are insured/ a member with? As a member and insured with the FHT they give invaluable advice on issues such as this. Since qualifying, although i haven't practised for some time, i was told, depending on the operation to wait at least six weeks, when choosing the oils you have to take into consideration possible contra-indications.
