Hi Hawkwind
It is always the same isn't it. We are led to believe one type of food is good for us and a short time later we are told the reverse is true. I was reading the benefits of drinking bog standard tea the other day, this comes on the heels of other articles saying don't touch it. I suppose that saying 'everything in moderation' is the right course of action (although I don't always follow this theory myself).

Hello!I'm new & a great fan of green tea.In moderation & finding the best quality organic tea seems sensible.Have you read about the Chernobyl scientist who was spared from any ill effects of the disaster because he drank copious amounts of green tea every day!Enjoy your tea!

Hello,
Green teas has caffein (well, called thein (spelling?) since it is in tea, but it's the same molecule), as has coffee and ordinary tea. Gren tea wil keep me awake fo rhoru son end, whereas coffee wil not! Gives me a boost, and then I "fall down" pretty fast. I was told that it's because tea has tanins that sort of dampen the effects of caffein but make it last longer. Like a "slow release" thing.
Green tea had been shown to reduce risk of cancer becuase it has antioxidants in it.

if you believed everything you read about food, there would be nothing left to eat! I think, as orangeblossom said, everything in moderation is the best idea.

Just check packaging as some green teas have caffenine in them, but not all do ,will be in ingredients.Pure will just give green tea.

Answers:

Not necessarilly, because caffeine in green tea is not added to the leaves, but occurs naturally! So unless I read "caffein free" (or something similar) on the package, I am expecting caffeine to be in there! When I buy a pack of apples (or any fruits or vegetables), it does not list vitamins in the ingredients!

If you are drinking Green tea for it's antioxidants but are worried about the caffine, you could try rooibos tea, which as far as I know has even more antioxidants and is caffine free.

[sm=bouncy.gif]I am a green tea fan but i have recently been told to get into White tea as it is better for you than green tea and does not have caffeine in - you can buy it in healthshops but have not seen it in the supermarkets yet. I am hoping that information given to me was correct...

Remember the following point:
1.-Not more than 3 times.
2.-Water temperature.
3.- Tea pot. You ‘d better not put tea all time in the water. The best way is to put hot water into tea first time for less than 1 minutes to take away pesticide that is used during tea tree growing. And then pour hot water into tea for 5 to 10 minutes. And pour it out to drink it. So you will see that there is little water left in tea pot. When you want to drink again, pour water again.
4.-Usually people put one or two scoop of tea into a big teapot, and the tea is in the water for nearly half day. All ingredients will be distilled into water, including those that is not good for health.
lol. send email to me if your guys need to buy tea from China. :)
