holosync

Hello everyone
A year or so ago i had a bit of money and bought a set of cds called 'The Holosync Solution' (centrepointe reasearch institute) and listened to them religiously for a few months. It might already have been discussed, but if not you can find it through google.
It is supposed to be an audio technology that places the person in a state of meditation by sending different frequencies in each ear, i found the cds to be quite useful with my reiki.
I don't listen to them quite as much as i used to, i think because they have less affect on me now. Just interested to know if there any of you out there that have gone the whole hog with them and what your end result was? Then again maybe you'll all think i'm an idiot for buying them in the first place:D
thanks and a reiki hug

Hi Seb
I haven't tried them personally but I know a man who has and he thinks they are brilliant. He was trying to explain it to me once, but I didn;t really "get" it. I would like to try them, just because I like to experiment with these type of things.
From what I was told though, I gather that they are only really useful for people who find it hard to switch off and quiet the mind, as they help with this process. Personally, I have no problem with this so perhaps I wouldn't notice much difference. I may be wrong.
Have you noticed a difference in meditation when using the cd's as opposed to not using them? Can you enlighten me?

I was very interested in Holosync and ordered the demos which were interesting. I'd have loved to have gone "the whole hog" as you put it, but unfortunately didn't have the money at the time. I may give it a whirl sometime in the future....

Hi donna and azalia,
Thanks for responding.
When using the cds you have to use stereo headphones so you've already got an encapsulated environment which i find makes meditation easier as it draws the mind from thought along with the music. When i use the cds now its basically the same as using music, but when i first started i had to fight to stay awake (which i enjoyed because it was a bit like when i first started to learn meditation) as the music sends you into a state of wakeful sleep, which is why i enjoyed doing reiki right before i fell asleep while listening to the music. Though funnily enough i'd always wake up feeling really tired, though i'd feel great later on, i think it must be because i was able to attain a deeper sleep for longer or something. I'd sometimes use them at work during lunch break, the cds would send me into a light sleep for half an hour from which i'd wake as if to a new day... if a little sleepy. So i think i used the cds more as a light sleep/ meditation tool, differently to how i would normally meditate.
I do find it very easy to meditate, i used to help others at university in a group to meditate through my voice, which i guess is a slight hypnosis and in a way kinda similar to listening to the cds because it uses up a lot of your thoughts, although you're still completely aware of your surroundings of course.
Because of this when i used it in conjunction with the reiki it had a slightly different feel, more like the reiki did what it wanted to instead of me thinking about it. Not much difference, perhaps thats why i was curious if other reiki practitioners had tried it as you can buy further versions that take you further down until your brain wave patterns are in a very deep sleep, thats what it's supposed to do, never having tried the later versions. It's interesting nonetheless.
Theres no real need for the cds if you can meditate without them, but as azalia pointed out you can order the demo to try out. I can't buy the next stage due to lack of money, but i'm still interested to see how it affects me.
Thank you all ;)
Have fun
Seb
