Reflexology and Stroke

I have been seeing a client for about six weeks now. She came with depression having had three strokes in the past two years and she is only 35. Her medical history is interesting to say the least. I used bergamot and chamomile in the treatment and it had an immediate effect, she left with a big grin on her face and has returned weekly (as her husband and neighbour!)
Anyway, I digress.
The stroke has left her with parallasis (sp!) on the left side of her face (not too bad) but worse when she is tired. I have managed to reduce two big crystals in her great toes and others in the other toes also and work a lot on this area and the central nervous system. She also has arthritis in legs and shoulders.
Last week she said that she has an 'annoying twitch' right in the centre of her forehead and I immediately thought that it could be to do with the muscles of her face having been affected by the stroke and am hoping that this is a good sign and that some life might be coming back.
What do you think? Any advice from anybody would be appreciated, especially if you have had some experience, but not necessary!:D

my husband had a stroke 7 years agao which has left him with permanent pins and needles and weakness on his left side but no apparent paralysis. when he is tired it feels worse.
during the petrol shortage, lol his car ran out of petrol and he biked it to work (he plays tennis regularly and goes to a gym, so is quite fit). however, after a couple of days of this, it took his toll and he decided to go to physio. although this helped in the short term, he didnt find it that effective.
i was about to start my case studies at this time for reflex and made him be one of my people i did 4 times. he is a cynical skeptic and thinks its all a bit of tosh BUT he did agree that the pins and needles felt slightly better each time.
due to his lack of interest and our declining relationship anyway, i didnt do any more... he was not enthusiastic. but as he is pretty stressed now and its 2 years on and calmer for us, i am talking him into having regular treatments... lol might even get the reiki going on him.
for stroke people i think touch is probably evem more important. from what i gather, its numb but incredibly sensitive at the same time. my mum, who also had a stroke but more severe, says its like nerve ends jangling all the time.
i will be most interested in how my husband responds over the long term... i might even do it for free <g>.

We have more in common than you realise Rosie.;)
She did have physio...waste of time. She tells it very funny, her (at 35) and all the 80 year olds in the room together doing joint physio.....:D Didn't work for her at all.
Let me know how you get on, I think the toughest part is breaking through the outside layer eh!!;)

I'd be interested how you get on Candie. I've been giving my father in law very gentle reflexology on occasions since he had his stroke six weeks ago. Just gently working his CNS and gentle foot massage, but he can't give me a response. He's in a pretty bad way, but I really think he is benefitting from the contact, plus gentle lymph drainage, etc.
