Reiki - Spiritual Healing
Hi..
I would like to ask those that have done spiritual healing and Reiki... and I know I have asked this before but my brain is so like a sieve at mo...
I know with spiritual healing from my learning/understanding that it is spirit that comes close and works through you and that we can also use our energies?????
I was asked couple of weeks ago what was the difference, and I just do not know how to explain... other than, attunements can be done over a couple of days, where as spiritual healing is over 2 years... yet, spirit is also energy which is also part of the life force energy.. just would like to explain in an easy way..
So any help would be much appreciated

Reiki = Spirit Energy (Aka Spiritual healing?)
Both Spiritual Healing and Reiki connect to the same Source Energy - whatever name is given to that Source Energy. Is a Prayer a Mantra and is a Mantra a Prayer?
The only differences are the method of training, the training period (as you state) and the method of giving healing. In Spiritual Healing the Healer is supposed to ensure that they are healthy before giving healing - but, in my experience, no method of self healing was taught. In Reiki one is taught to give healing to oneself, thus ensuring one is healthy as well as giving healing to others.
Reiki tends to be given on a couch and Spiritual Healing tends to be given on a stool or a chair. Either method of healing can be given in any position.
To me it is all just HEALING.
The only thing that seems to put Reiki on a different plane from Spiritual Healing is it's Oriental Name - which is in vogue at the moment because of such things as Yoga, Judo, Aikaido, Qi Gung, Tai Chi, Feng Shui, etc. However it is this Oriental connection which, regretably, makes some narrow minded members of the Christian Faith call it evil and ban it's use by their believers. Thorny subject here!

yes I agree with all you have said esp the christian bit
whenever i come up against that sort of comment i say the energy comes from GOD and is to help people heal, how can that be bad
ignorance and conditioning and small minds are responsible for this kind of comment
also spiritual healing uses high frequency healing as reiki does however spiritual healing does not use earth KI energy

There is another ?... is Reiki etc or any energy healing more powerful than Spiritual healing, as I dont know why, I just seem to have the feeling it is..

ALL healing is Energy Healing!
The Energy comes from the same Source and is of equal strength.
Some people, however, feel a stronger link with the Energy using their own preferred method of healing whether that be one of the Reiki methods or a Spiritual Healing method.
The Universal Energy is a constant strength no matter from which point it is accessed. Rather like the electricity supply to your house - it is the same strength in each of the power socket outlets (unless a transformer is used as in a shaver socket).

That is not so easy to answer as there a many ways of accessing the many facets of the energies, are you being an empty vessel or are you actively channelling, are you spiritually working out to increase the size of your energy channels, do you channel all of the time or just occasionally, do you pursue other means of accessing the many different variants on many levels or are you sticking with one facet?
There are that many variables that I get dizzy just trying to bring them into focus but they can all make a difference, at the end of the day you have to decide how far you wish to go with your relationship with the energies and out of that you will establish what you can and can't do in the energies, as I keep on saying there is no right or wrong path there is only your personal journey and that is spot on even when it feels wrong some times :-)

I do accept that all healing comes from same source, but then why do people go on to other attunements and find out that the energy is more powerful? I have a friend who has gone on to do other energy healing and felt this?..

I do have to say, your last para, re personal journey, and yes to each one of us, it is a personal journey, just when u get asked a ? it is nice to be able to give and answer and understand what you are talking about... and for many, have experienced and worked with spiritual healing and reiki .. its nice to be able to hear of the difference, even tho, each of those who have had experience both, will or can give a different perception.. being, their personal journey..

Hi Flower, I have never done reiki, but am a spiritual healer. You've had some excellent replies so far.
Just to add to something Paul said, perhaps when he did spiritual healing there was no mention on self healing. This is not the case now, we are shown how to work with our energy bodies, the chakras, how to energise, cleanse, balance them etc, and the emphasis is very much on self-healing.
Any healer is ultimately on a journey of self-healing. I realised this very early on and any healer not working on themselves, will become unstuck eventually, you can not be a healer and not heal yourself.
As a spiritual healer, I haven't had any attunements, for we don't have attunements in spiritual healing, however, as I have continued along my healing journey, I definitely attune to different aspects of consciousness depending on the healing situation. In otherwords, I will call on different energies intentionally, and yes, the healing feels more powerful. I have never felt it necessary to be attuned to the energies, but rather am drawn there and then will consciously work with the energy spirit, consciousness, whatever you wish to call it. At other times, the energy makes itself known to me, and is there to help in one capacity or another. I am often told who is working with me, they are very amusing at making themselves known.

Receiving additional attunements is a beneficial practice, no matter what 'flavour'. In Usui Sensei's system you would receive empowerments again and again throughout your training at all levels, and at Master level you would learn how to 'attune' yourself daily. They didn't have "one-off" attunements like we use in the west.
Conversely, I have come across people who have ditched their complicated new systems - like Karuna for example - when they discovered how potent and elegant and simple Usui's original system was. They found power through following the simplicity of the original form, rather than new variations.

I must admit I do like the sound of continuous empowerments... I will say, that with healing and sytems, it is us that will either hold ourselves back or become good healers.. as I do believe we all can attain anything we wish if we work at 'it' and or commit... I cant think of the right words, but know as usual what I am saying, but that does not mean everyone else knows lol
