How have you changed?
How do you all feel you have changed since you learned Reiki? What lessons do you think you have learned that you can share with other forum contributors and how do you feel you have grown as a person? Do you have any regrets?
Answers:
I find it hard to put my finger on what it is about me that has changed since I learned Reiki. But then again, I always have had difficulty nailing things down so I can express them.
If I had to say something, I would say that I feel a lot stronger and more confident in myself. I have never really been one to care much about what others think of me and now I care even less. I do what is right for me, assuming I know what that is.
I think I am learning not to take life so seriously and to try and relax and enjoy the ride (do not worry...). I have also learned to stop looking for things, and just let things happen in their own time.
On the other hand, since learning Reiki, I seem to have become a lot less creative than I was which I find really weird! I am not implying that it is down to Reiki, but there is a strange synchronicity.
To sum up, I think I have learned a lot, which I can't even consciously think how to express.

Good question kashikoi! I'll enjoy reading everyone's responses.
I guess I'm partly like Donna- there's so many things it's hard to single them out.
The main thingthat Reiki has done for me is sent mesearching- firstly for what exactly the Source of healing is, and then, having connected with it, finding a deeper connection. This hashad a profound impact on my life becauseI feel very strongly connected toSpirit or 'The Soul of All Things' as I like to call it, and find that now that I'm aligned with the vast source ofenergy from which I orginated my true identityis starting to unfold. This is exciting because I can truly sense for the first time the unlimited potential of every human being, and the idea that the kingdom of Heaven can be experienced on earth is very real for me.
Quite simply, I'm inspired! I realise that Reiki, for me anyway isthe boundless source of Love, Truth, Grace, Beauty, Peace, Perfection, Harmony and Inspiration that many people call God- and therefore it's not just for healing. In fact, I don't even see it as a healing energy as such- I see it as where I originated from and thereforeit's through myconnection with Spirit that I can shed the illusion of physicality and suffering and return to the whole and complete state which is naturally mine. (Shedding the illusion of the physical world and returning to our balanced, state as a complete being is what most people term 'healing'.)
So for me, Reiki isn't just a spiritual tool or something that is useful for me as I go along my spiritual journey, it's what we're all searching for in the first place. It's the boundless, expansive, source of love that has no boundaries, and where ouridentity as a spiritual being is to be found.
Of course, there are other things too- a more peaceful, loving, andless fearful existance are alllovely by- products! My intuition has developed loads recently, and I'm finding I'm more motivated and inspiredwith creative projects too.

I think with Reiki coming into our lives it works on such subtle levels that the changes are gradual so we are not always aware of them but to others around us they become very noticable. This cancause problems within relationships as there is a shift in balance of energies. I'm not saying this to alarm anyone who is thinking of attuning to Reiki but it is a possibility and there's no pretending that your life will not change in any way. BUT, the positives are so wonderful!! To feel at one with the Source when the energy is flowing, to become less stressed, to not worry about the future and just appreciate the 'now'....all this and more but each soul is different and finds its own joys and lessons.
I am not the person I was 10 years ago but all the wonderful experiences I have had since this energy came into my life have made me a different person in a positive way..am I making any sense here???!!!
I also agree with Azalia that I'm looking forward to seeing how others have been'affected'.

This is an excellent post by the way. I feel that since ive had treatments and the attunement, I have stronger mental clarity, I hate anger and dont have a tolerance for it in others. I just want to be around people that are peaceful. I have a much stronger appreciation and awe for the universe. I often get choked up happily over how good Reiki feels to flow through your body, how spiritual it is for me even though I used to consider myself practically an athiest, i feel that Reiki is a religion onto itself in some ways. I am impressed constantly with its benefits. Even though I have self worth, I notice that it pushes it up a little bit to have something like this in my body. I definetely have shifted so to speak.

If i'm totally honest, when i started learning reiki i thought it would be kinda cool to be a reiki master, that it would be an achievement the same way you could get a badge at the boy scouts, that it would put me above everyone else, make me proud; that it would make me different to everyone else. Now i feel so much more connected to everyone i know, that i can see into their lives and know them, that if i work hard with myself i can see further into others, which might in turn help me understand myself. It's helped me to appreciate that i'm only special because i believe in myself (of course my family and friends think i'm alright as well:D) and that reiki is only a means to help me become stronger.
I have noticed the same effect as reikidonna, i've got a degree in computer animation as well as many years in art and writing, but i think i needed my anger, my sorrow, my depression in order to bring out everything that i felt in a way that i couldn't do in normal every day life. Now that so much of my anger has gone so has my creativity, not completely, but i don't get as insanely into my artistic side as i used to. A similar effect has occured with my punching bag, it tends to sit in a corner a lot more nowadays.
I work in a supermarket, which i used to do only for the money while i find a better job, now most of the time i enjoy it and don't think i could ever sit infront of a computer screen as a job, the lifestyle is no longer me.
I find it very easy now to smile at angry customers or people in general, if you don't respond to anger then people usually calm down pretty quickly. I'm not infallible though, there are some customers...[:@]
I used to be very distant with my parents, never ever thought i could close the gap, but it's starting to happen which is nice.
I'm also a lot more patient, i used to talk about energy healing all the time, but there are quite a few people i know quite well who don't know i'm so involved with it. If you ever force such a conversation on someone it inevitably ends up making you sound like you're not as spiritual as you would like to think.
Thanks for letting me say my bit.
happy dreams for you all

For me, Reiki has taught me to live holistically with my physical, emotional, practical, spiritual, and environmental needs and influences. My first Reiki Master, Suzie Quartly, really drummed that into me over the years, and it has had profound effects. I'm still evolving; it's a process.

Hi Seb,
I'm happy to know i'm not the only one to feel like this. Everyone Reiki practitioner I know said that learning Reiki made them more creative and I was starting to feel like the odd one out.
I like your explanation of why this may have happened, maybe it is true for me too. Actually just as I am writing this, it popped into my head that I am a lot less anxious now, and when I was in the midst of one of my creative "binges" I always remember feeling highly anxious.
I want to get to a stage where I can be creative, but on my terms (i.e not doing something solid for days without getting dressed or eating properly) but it doesn't seem to be happening as yet.

I feel really connected to everything,
I feel privileged that I can give an amount of painrelief to myself and other people,
I was blown away when I put my hands on my pregnant friend's stomach and got such a strong sense of being in contact with two people rather than one,
I now don't like flying because I can't feel anything when I try to calm myself using Reiki,
I feel stronger,
For the first year, I was healthier than I had been for a long time (mainly things like colds and sore throats),
I am far far less stressed as my life is not now all concentrated on my day job (as an engineer)
I love that Reiki is part of my life.

The flying experience may just be my personal experience. My way of calming myself is to place my hands on my stomach then I get a comforting tingling or heatin my hands. I normally only fly once a year but have had 3 trips recently and did not feel any heat or tingling. Being that I was feeling slightly edgy anyway, I felt worse because I knew I wouldn't be able to use Reiki to help. My main problem in general is being ungrounded and I think that is what happened. I tried visualising being connected to everything and as we moved up into the air I was just moving with the universal energy (this is so difficult to explain!!) but it didn't really help. One of my trips was to Canada, a trip of a lifetime thing, and I couldn't feel Reiki at all over there - and again in hindsightI think this is because I became so ungrounded when flying. That was annoying cos I was in the Rockies and expected my hands to be going crazy as they normally do when I am surrounded by mountains and open space!
I have no doubt that one of the more experienced people here will have a great remedy/visualisation for my problem.... before Xmas please cos I am flying again then!!

Florence i dont have much expertise but is it possible because you were in motion it made you think or feel like their was no energy coming out when their really was? you mentioned grounding being a problem thats definetely true. Have you tried imagining yourself your feet being connected at the roots to a tree? I was told this by my reiki master. Reiki probably h as a different feeling now that I think about it, when your up that high in the air. It never goes away though. Maybe also you have some blockages prior to flying. I also learned recently that if you have imbalanced chakras in the body and try and do reiki on yourself when you havent done much self healing in the past, than it will be hard to feel anything, and the best thing to do is get a treatment by another person who does reiki and they can clear out those blockages causing your flow to come back to you.
