I am Tera Mai Seichem and have been reading my latest news letter from Kathleen Milner... which I will share...
Manmade attunements are coning to the surface literally! I was mistaken! The HUNG in the first and second degreee initiations of Tera Mai only pushes manmade attunements to the side.. As the light increases in intensity, the lies, muck and mire are being brought to the surface.. At the present time, manmade attunements may be found in the aura as dark grey/black clouds hovering about over the chest.. Anyone who is channeling enough healing energy may pully them off.. Simply circle your hands in the aura until you feel that you have something, ask the individual to take a deep breath and to exhale as you pull.. Oftentimes, people feel as thoe a plug has beeb removed from their heart chakra or heart and the result is that there is a freeing sensation.. if the individual was attuned to Universal initiations or if s/he is a natural healing then immediately, the healing energy coming out of his or her hands increases dramatically.. If dark heavy energy in the aura is not pulled off, what is in the aura will soon manifest in the physical body...
So, my thoughts on this.. how does one know what is a man made attunement? there are so many branches of Reiki/Seichem, and each person that adds another branch, will say.. it has come from spirit, they were guided to bring this in etc...
What are your thoughts?

They are all co-created as we work in partnership with the energies, the problems seem to arise in the passing on of the energy attunements and that is the time when some people insist on giving the attunements themselves from ego instead of passing the attunements through them from Spirit.
IMO all attunements given should be issued from the Source in their pure original form and everyone who receives an attunement should set their intention to receive it in its pure original form direct from Spirit.
I also feel that this is one of the advantages off distant attunements over hands on as it is very difficult to issue an ego attunement over any distance, since you can only issue it through Spirit and although we connect in the energies we have to pass everything through the energy which seems to work as a buffer.

Dear Flower,
All attunements are man-made attunements. The attunements that we have in the West were developed by the Imperial Officers as a way of reproducing the experiences that they had when they were empowered by Usui Sensei.
The individual details of attunements do not matter, so it's not significant that people may have altered things by introducing new stages. The underlying intention is the important thing. There are endless different Western attunements styles snow, and they all seem to work.

Thank u both for your thoughts.... I must admit, what paul says about distant attunements having an advantage that they come from the source.. I have a friend who has been having distant attunements, and her experiences have been just wow..... as the attunement came directly from the source...
Although I am dithering at mo about my mastership, I was thinking about distant or hands on.. the only thing that concerns me with distant, is... how does one learn how to then carry out attunements? and what way to teach, as if u are hands on u also see the experience of the teacher teaching, and for me its better to watch rather than read 'instructions' so to speak

You learn to pass on attunements by doing it not watching others do it as there is very little to see unless they are performing a pantomime :-)
The answers are in the manual or they should be but that seems a bit iffy these days with people adding extra levels, if they aren't then you can find plenty of free ones for you to download off the internet if you want to know how its done.

I agree with Paul C's first reply.
I also agree with Taggart It is a two way process, it won't matter a hoot how spiritual or full of integrity the teacher is if the student is uncertain about accepting the attunement, in much the same way as many students feel they have had a bad teacher many teachers wonder why their students came to them in the first place. -We have all heard about sending healing to someone who has refused to accept it-
Reading through your posts it appears to be the integrity of the attunements you have received you are uncertain about, (?or perhaps it is the teachers?) rather than the method or lineage of that attunement.
When receiving a Master/Teacher attunement you should always be given 'instructions' with the manual on how to pass on an attunement. Beyond that as paul C says If you weren't given those instructions, then perhaps you should contact the person who gave you the attunement and ask them why? Perhaps some other incident occured at the end of the attunement that put it out of the teacher's mind. (But really that is still no excuse and it would be worth asking for them anyway, if you feel that strongly about it)
Of course, you wont receive those teaching instructions until you have done your teacher/master levels

I have read your reply, and I must say you have lost me...
I started of this thread about man made attunements, as per Tera Mai news letter, which got me wondering what is mad made..
Moving down thre thread, I spoke about taking my mastership, and that I am you could say dithering, what to do, do I take my Tera Ma, or just do Reiki masters.. and of course, if I had an distant attunement, how would I know how to teach, silly that may sound, but with hands on, you do watch how to teach and 'come' over to students..
This bit has really lost me of what you say... JJ if anyone knows me and what I am like is you, and when I read things it gets me thinking, well what is the right way, and that is where my lack of confidence comes in... nothing to do about who has given me my attunements.. but like the thread says.. what is man made... and that bothers me... esp when u read this on a news letter, it does freak me out... and on this bit from K.Milner.. At the present time, manmade attunements may be found in the aura as dark grey/black clouds hovering about over the chest.. you know how I would feel about this!!!!!! as in the word dark....
As a healer, I have no problems with, as for those that have attunned me, have no problems with that either, and each teacher has bought me different things.. but going back to my masters, that is where I am unsure what to do.... and that includes hands on or distant...

When someone makes such acategorical staement as milner has just done (your original quote) I do have to wonder where she is coming from to make such a sweeping judgement (As In Do Not Judge!!!)

So long I know where my/the healing energy comes from, and connected to the source, and allow to send with love and intent, that is all that matters and be open minded to others views, but not let it worry me... so today I feel good..

I think that the consensus that is coming through the reponses to this thread is that you can safely ignore these comments, that they are nonsense.
As to your question about learning how to attune others on Master courses, or via distance learning courses... yes, on live Master courses you are taught how to carry out attunements. I taught a Master / Teacher course this weekend just gone, and we spent Saturday afternoon breaking attunements down into manageable chunks, practising each chunk and building it up into the full sequence. The students had some 'homework' to do on Saturday evening (to practise a second degree attunement) ready to do it on each other on Sunday morning.
I teach Reiki at Master / Teacehr level through distance learning and I teach attunements during the home study course by providing:
(1) written descriptions of each attunement
(2) summary sheets with 'bullet points' and key words/phrases to summarise each stage
(3) sheets with a series of colour photographs to demonstrate each stage, with accompanying text
(4) an audio CD where I talk the student through the sequence, just like I would have done on the live course
(5) CDroms containing video sequences so that students can watch someone carrying out a Western attunement (and a Reiju empowerment)
... in that way the student gets the same as they would have gotten on the live course: they can watch a demonstration, they are talked through the process, they can look at still images and summary sheets and read detailed text descriptions too, and they can ask anything they need to via e-mail (though the materials are clear and self-explanatory).
This approach works well.

I must say what you do on your courses, sounds really good, and not just here is your attuement... the idea of home work I think is also a good idea...
