aromatherapy & liposuction!
Hi guys
Have a regular client who has just had lipo and is bruising heavily and would like to try aromatherapy to see if that would help, 2 questions as i am still studying this....I would probably infuse the essentials with Arnica but what essentials do you think best, also would you be happy to work a week after the op, as a deep tissue girl i wouldnt but the aroma is much more gentle...

I would do a very light aromatherapy massage...lots of effluerage.....using Arnica essential oil....and maybe a little grapefruit added. Perhaps you could also use an Arnica carrier oil..........I have a lovely maccerated one. If you don't have any I would be happy be send you some.

Don't know much about liposuction. Does it require a general anaesthetic? Is there an incision? Would there be any risk of blood clots?
I would personally not want to give massage to a heavily bruised area of any description, even lightly. I would perhaps use warm and cool compresses instead to help speed up the healing process and proceed to gentle massage when the bruising has gone. I would need to do more research on liposuction though.

Thanks for the advice, all taken on board, I have just ordered on Friday some arnica carrier and she phoned a couple of hours later so my head must have known it would be needed!!!! Taz may have something with the compresses.......sounds very soothing indeed. Perhaps you could make some with Arnica essential oil and then follow on with the aroma massages.
