ID Aromatics? Key 'essential' oils to buy? Out of date oils??

Will try again...I tried posting this earlier today, but it doesn't seem to have worked...weird!
Was wondering if anybody has ever tried ID aromatics to buy essential oils? Any feedback on them would be appreciated...they seem cheap and I was wondering if their oils are good quality or not?
Also, can anybody recommend which oils they wouldn't be without and which they don't ever use - I'm just starting out and would appreciate some tips on which I should and shouldn't buy.
Also, how do I tell if an essential oil is out of date. if it doesn't have a date stamp??
Thanks

Cirrus Hi There
Never heard of ID Aromatics, but often (not always) with oils, you get what you pay.
As far as individual oils go there are so many to choose from I'm sure each Aromatherapist you ask would give a different answer. It is probably best to choose 15 to 20 oils and get to know them well.
I wouldn't be without Lavender, Juniper berry, the orange family oils, Frankincense, Geranium, Tea Tree, Marjoram, Clary Sage, Basil, Rosemary, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Sandalwood, Ginger, Black Pepper, Grapefruit. I do use Rose Otto but it is so expensive. I trained with Neroli & Melissa but again they are very expensive and there are other oils that are as good if not better in my humble opinion.
Out of date oils can be spotted through a number of ways. Firstly thin viscosity oils tends to have a shorter shelf life these include citrus oils. Higher viscosity oils like Rose, Sandalwood tend to last longer. Some oils will go darker in colour and thicken in viscosity with age but this does not necessarily mean they are no longer useable. Oils that have a rancid smell suggest they ARE past their use-by-date and shouldn't be used.
However, apart from foul smelling rancid oils, oils that have gone past their sell by date can be used as room fresheners in a diffuser for instance.
How you use your oils and take care of them is essential for their longevity.

wordsoflove Hi
Yes I buy my oils from ID as I live in Leeds and you can smell the shop halfway down the street. They do sell good quality oils and are always happy to advise. My aromatherapy tutor used to work in the shop and so I got all my oils on the course from there with the exception of a few from Phytobotanica.
Hope this helps.
