Hi vmaxchick,
When I was studying Aromatherapy, I found it daunting to know where to go for professional quality oils. I wonder, do yu need to purchase the oils because you are studinying Aromatehrapy.
I studied a ITEC Aromatherapy and was told that any oils that I take in to collegfe and the exam must carry the latin name on the label. I wudl check this before you purchase any oils.
As above, i use Baldwins oils because the company has a long established history and the staff can provide advice on a number of factors.
I purchased my oils form amphora-aromatics, i have not had any problems with them.

When investigating oils, try and find out a bit of the company, there turn around of oils. You don't want to purchase oils that have been hanging around for a while.
If you are close to London, there is a professional beauty fair in Olympia on the 21,22 & 23 March. Many suppliers will be there. So you could go along and ask question and smell the oils. You can find more details on the fair at www.professionalbeauty.co.uk.
If I can be of any more help, please contact me.
Cheers

Hi Vmaxchick,
I came across about 7 years ago and have stopped using all other suppliers now since they are so reliable and have such a huge range. You can't buy at trade prices on their online-shop yet, but if you write they will send you trade prices.
Speaking of prices - they are very good considering their quality - even their organic oils are less expensive than some companies normal oils. Since they purchase directly from growers they save you a fortune.
They also have qualified therapists in the business so they really know what they are doing. Have a good look at their site cos there is a lot of information on it.
In my experience, reliability and professional backup are just as important as price - but I had to learn the hard way!
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I like ID aromatics oils. They now have a website, but minimun orders are £50 because they say it is for wholesale. Not sure if they do mail orders for smaller amounts.
They also have "fixed oils". Any idea what this is?
Their web site is:

very reliable, helpful and they send you a monthly newsletter

Hi Artemis,
'Fixed' oils is a term for vegetable oils, which are of course carrier oils. It just means that they are non-volatile.
