Help please -again!
Hi everyone
I just wanted to know if anyone has given Reiki to a Lupus sufferer? I have a new client who is coming to see me at the end of the week and am rather concerned about what may happen. I have just read the post about healing crisis and it has made me wonder. (Nothing much was said about how to deal with a healing crisis or indeed how it may present itself in my 2nd degree Reiki.) I have read as much as I can find about Lupus & Sjorgens syndrome which she also has but feel very ill preapred really in so many ways. I suppose this is how we learn, but its scarry!!
Perhaps I should have a handout about possible outcomes- what do you guys do?? I really want to be as prepared as possible for this poor girl - she has so many problems due to the Lupus on top of those mentioned.

the first thing to do is
just for today do not worry
It matters not what condition you are treating , a client will pull through you what is needed during a session
treat it like any other physical healing session, unless you are doing mental and emotional healing then just treat it as a regular mental emotional healing session
use your consultation to judge which is needed, if you are not sure then ask guides and ascended masters and god to deliver healing through you for the highest good of the client
just for today do not worry!!!!!

Hi Jaymee
The issue about what to tell clients about healing crises can be a tricky one as some people are very open to the powers of suggestion so if you tell them they may experience e.g headaches they will have a whopper !!
I tend to explain a healing crises but I don't make a big deal about it , I also tend to weigh up how mich info I give and in what way depending on how the client presents. I also tell clients they can ring me after a treatment to discuss any effects , I tend to ring them anyway as a follow up after their first visit. I guess for me it is about being reassuring and not alarmist .

Dez's advice is always good too
and as everyone on here always says and I do like to be reminded cos I am a worrier
JUST FOR TODAY DO NOT WORRY
best wishes

Hi Paul,
I know! I know! :)
Next time it will be in capitals!;)
There DO seem to be an awful number of Reiki trainees who have not been given the confidence, by their Teaching Masters, to trust in the simplicity of Reiki and believe that it can do no harm to any condition.
It is, to me the most important aspect of Reiki training that all students understand the 'goodness' of Reiki at all levels (mind, body, spirit) and for all conditions.
Most of our responses on this forum are to give reassurance to those who have not been so trained and who are worrying, incorrectly, that they might do harm by giving Reiki. It is my belief that the most important of the Reiki Precepts is " Just for today do not worry". Accepting this means that the other Precepts fall very neatly into place.
I'm sorry I shouted and woke you up!:D:D

I think it's true about the lack of confidence Paul and this must be your lot in life to help all us newbies - I do try to remember "Just for today do not worry" but it's not always easy to put it into practice is it ?!!
Thanks for all the encouragement and good advice from all of you - much appreciated.

Hello JayMee
Remember, with Reiki you will never be given a situation that you can't handle. Reiki is pure love and light and cannot possibly do harm. Doing harm with Reiki is like trying to mow the lawn with a bar of chocolate,,,,impossible.
And that's my ten penneth!!
Love and Light and all that.
