Hi Lightwinds,
Reiki course prices seem to vary alot - I paid £150 for both my Reiki I and Reiki II courses with the same Reiki Master and both courses were on a one to one basis. I received course notes, my certificates and ongoing support, I can contact my Reiki Master whenever I want with any questions etc. Some courses cost as much or more and with more people attending - so you will also have to decide how you want to be attuned, what you would be most comfortable with, and also look into the support you will receive. I hope that you find the right course for you.

Hi Lightwinds,
I may as well join in as well then, and of course you are more than welcome to visit my website to have a look for yourself, and if you want to, I offer the first part of my level 1 manual and one personal distant empowerment free with no obligation.
I currently offer level 1 Reiki for £60, this can be taken in 3 different ways, as a 1 day course, as a complete distant course and what a few of my students do, which is a combination of distant and physical. The most popular is taken over 4 instalments which are at a distant, and all the distant courses have an open ended option for a half day practical either during the course, at the end of it or at any time in the future.
All courses offer 60 page manual, certificate and full support with continued empowerments for life. A personalised audio cassette is available to all students on request. All students are also welcome to join my online egroup where we share messages, photos, and related information together.
Level 2 is available for £90 and takes a similar format to above, full details of all my courses including the special "Try before you Buy" offers are on my website.
My own emphasis with Reiki is on the spiritual enlightenment side.
I wish you luck in finding the right teacher for you for out there somewhere there is indeed that teacher, just take your time, and choose one you resonate with. It is easy to pick a Reiki teacher based on price alone, and whilst this is your choice, it would be a wise person who listens to their intuition. Most of the Reiki Masters on HP have a website if not all of us, these will of course give you an idea of our personalities at the very least.
If possible it may be a good idea to have a Reiki treatment first with your preferred teachers, I offer this to all my potential students either in person or at a distance.
Just keep looking until your heart leads you to the right one for you!
Many Reiki blessings to you on your journey.

Dear Lightwinds
I recommend a full on 2 day course minimum for the first two each levels a minimum of 4 days for Reiki Masters.
I have already put my prices in response to another thread but if you would like more information about anythng you can always email me.
Every Reiki Master usually puts a part of themself in the course it is only natural that individuals backgrounds will have an influence so good to check their backgrounds e.g. some come from a bodywork, spiritual healing, in my case mediumship so the emphasis will be different.
Imperative that on-going support is available eventhough many do not need it. In fact if there was good on-going support throughout Reiki there would not be so many questions on this busy forum IMHO.
Ask as many questions as possible I have known some people to be given a copy of a published book and 3 pages of A4 paper which in IMHO is not a very high standard of service.

Hi Lightwinds, Hi Taggart,
I had a quick look at your page Taggart, with relation to the differences between Spiritual Healing & Reiki healing. I appreciate that you stated on the page that these are your opinions, and many coming from a Spiritual Healing background may disagree.
Whilst I never fully trained as a NFSH healer, I started but never got passed the preliminary stages due to time constriants at that time, however I have been in receipt of both Reiki and Spiritual healing at differing times in my life.
I agree with some of your comments but disagree with others, so just thought I would add a couple of comments for Lightwinds benfit primarly but which may be of interst to you also Taggart.
One of the comments you made which springs to mind, is that concerning the way in which Reiki and spiritual healing is given differs, ie Spiritual is mainly seated and Reiki mainly lying down, and again Spiritual is mainly off body on the aura and Reiki mainly on. These are the ones I do not fully agree with.
I received spiritual healing a long time ago, after had continued problems with a sprained ankle which was made worse by physiotherapy. I had spritual healing over a period of several sessions, during which the healers hands were placed in direct contact with my ankle, needless to say several treatments did the trick and I also returned when suffering with bad migraines, again the treatment was hands on. This particular healer had with him two spiritual guides who aided him in the location of his hands and also with advice for me.
I also know of Reiki people who prefer to treat hands off, and in fact when we facilitate distant healing this is again hands off.
Also you mention that most Reiki people give treatments on a couch as oppose to seated, however you may recall that in your own manual of original Reiki techniques you wrote that Dr Usui would treat others whilst they were seated.
Since I am also a Reiki Master and "do" Reiki as opposed to spiritual healing, I nonetheless fully value the work that Spiritual Healers do, it is their path and their choice to heal that way, and although not for me, for one reason or another, many, not necessarily you Taggart have suggested that Spiritual Healing can have a mumbo jumbo approach which could dissuade someone from going down that path to learn healing.
I have also taught people who were spiritual healers, in fact one gentleman I taught had done spiritual healing for 30 years, and then was then directed by his guides to learn Reiki. This gentleman travelled down from bonny Scotland to learn Level 1 with me, and is soon starting level 2. In his own words he said that the thing he found different with Reiki was that the energy was very strong from the start, and this level of energy he was channeling at level 1, right from the first distant Reiju, actually gave him the level of energy right at the start of the treatment, as oppose to towards the end with his spiritual healing.
Another thing I have learnt about Reiki is that people who learn it can use it straight away on their own, when you learn spiritual healing another has to be present for I believe the first 2 years.
Finally, one thing I agree with Taggart on completely, is of course that Reiki especially at level 1 is primarily for self-healing and I don't think spiritual healers usually use it for self-healing or self-development. Although I may be wrong here, but it was not used to treat self, by the 3 or so spiritual healers I taught Reiki to.
LightWinds you may want to consider when deciding on whether Reiki is for you or perhaps spiritual healing, where you would most like the healing to go initially, and how you would like to work with the Reiki energy.
If you prefer to work closely with others whilst healing and want to heal others in a church setting, and would prefer a long training kind of apprentice approach, them spiritual healing may be better for you.
Reiki is preferable to me, since I still have contact with the source/spirit/god
Answers:
Dear Elaine,
I was interested to hear what you had to say about spiritual healing and Reiki. The comments on my site are of course generalisations, so yes I know that there are some people who do Reiki hands off, and there are some spiritual healers who use treatment couches... I was simply giving my impressions of the way that Reiki tends to differ in practice from spiritual healing for most practitioners, and of course individual people will not necessarily fit the generalisation.
Your experience of teaching Reiki the spiritual healer you mentioned is similar to mine, that Reiki seems to give spiritual healers a strong and consistent connection to the source.
Well I think that some spiritual healing training does come along with a lot of unnecessary 'baggage', though that comment can be applied to some Reiki training too, in terms of rules and regulations, and rituals and restrictions.
