My pendulum
I bought a pendulum a while ago but am wondering now if it is a clear quartz crystal or just clear plastic!!Does it matter??? It is very very clear inside and from what I can see of my lump of clear quartz crystal that has has 'imperfections' in it. How can I test to see if it is actually a crystal or not??

yes it does matter if it is crystal or plastic. A plastic pendulum does not hold the energetic vibration of clear quartz and so won't work with clarity.
Best way to test is to hold it in you non-dominant hand over your writing hand so it is a few inches above the centre of the palm. Make sure you are centred and just ask it to show you the energy of your palm chakra. It can sometimes take a few trys to get it swinging the first time. When it does begin to move you can ask it to show you your 'Yes' and then your 'No'. At this point you can be sure it is a crystal rather then plastic but if you wanted to you could then ask it is it was quartz and it would (should!) swing in your 'yes' position.

Dedwydd Certain Crystals will have elements that are good for scrying etc... but using a pendulum for 'yes/no' answers can honestly be made out of anything. A piece of string with a needle on the end will do the job!
It is nice to use a pendulum that you treasure and keep for this reason only and therefore using crystals are great.
How are you using yours? I use mine by asking it to show me my yes (circular for me) and show me my no (back and forth) then I ask some questions that I already know the answers too... once I am happy I ask the questions needing answers.
You should be able to tell if it is crystal or plastic though...
