Working with meridians

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to start a thread about working with the meridian points on the feet and lower leg as there seems to be very little advice out there as to how to do this.
One suggestion from my tutor is to hold the end (or tsing) point and feel the sensation there, and then link this to the next point along and hold the two until the sensation in both is the same. Then move on to the next point (still holding the end point) and do the same thing, right up the the jing well points at the knee (or sometimes ankle is enough).
Another thing to do is hold the end points on both feet and do the same thing- wait until the sensation in both is the same.
Does anyone else have any other sugestions for treatment, and what results do people find they are getting from working this way?

Hi Melissa
I know very little about reflexology and working with the meridians. Beryl Crane and Inge Dougans both work with the meridians though, if you've seen their work? That might shed a little light.
Something which sounds a bit similar to me to what you are describing is the Brazilian toe hold, where you start off holding the person's little toes between your little fingers and thumbs at the same time. When you feel the energy is balanced eg the sensations settle down (or sometimes the person's feet twitch) you move to the fourth toes. You hold them between your fourth finger and thumb and do the same. Then the third toes with the third fingers and thumbs, second toes with second fingers and thumbs, and finally the big toes are held with the second and third fingers and the thumbs. I know there are variants on this eg some reflexologists work third toe, fourth toe, fifth toe, second toe then big toe.
Susanne Enzer taught us a wonderful endocrine balance technique during her maternity reflexology training, which involved 'waking up' the reflex points associated with the endocrine glands and then holding the points or holding our thumbs just over them and balancing the energy there. This has also made me think of Precision reflexology - although these things may not all necessarily be to do with mapping points on the meridians they are all involved with people's energy. Sorry if I've digressed!
