Practising in bare feet
A reflexologist friend of mine recently told me that when she trained, she learned that both therapist AND client should be barefoot during treatment, to allow energy to flow freely. I was a bit concerned as I've never really taken my shoes off to give treatments. Is this what other reflexologists do?

Personally I don't in my own clinic. Iwear sandals in thesummer. If I do a home visit, I generally remove my shoes at the door - not for the sake of energy flow, but because I don't want to leavefootprints on carpets. Not sure about the 'free-flow of energy' bit - probably has some value to it - other HP'ers will know more.
I dida reflexology course nearly 30 years ago, and was told not to treat anyone during my period, to prevent the transfer of meno-poison.........

I dont see what difference it would be, but most of the time Im bare feet as it is more natural, I suppose its somthing to do with grounding..
Answers:
No Never have never will, god the germs on the carpets etc. As for the energy flow IMO that is rubish energy will flow through concrete never mind shoes.

Hmm?! Is this a bit like not washing your hair during your period too? Please tell me they don't still teach this...?!

I quite enjoy having bare feet when I'm giving treatments, but then again I like being barefoot anyway! Yikes Jabba, sounds like a good old wives' tale to me:D
