Would tai chi be good for my problem ?
I've recently had cortisone injections in my neck for occiptal nerve problems. It has worked but I still have pain in my head - to a lesser degree. My physio and GP recomended pilates (and I put a post on that area to find out more ) but the specialist said he thought that might be too vigourous and said tai chi would be better. Now I don't know anything about tai chi either (except having watched people do it in Hong Kong). Does it help with posture/stretching and is it "easier" on the body than pilates ? Where would I find someone who could teach me tai chi in my local area ?
Sorry about all these questions - would be grateful if you could at least answer one or two of them.
Thank you

Hiya,
My partner had a go at Pilates, and we've both done Tai Chi. She found Pilates was a bit too strenous for her and much preferred the Tai Chi. It's very good for posture, balance and control (and it's what got me interested in Reiki because of the Chi energy that I came to discover through the exercises).
As for finding someone who teaches it locally, a good bet would be to type "Tai Chi Class <location>" into a web search engine and see what comes up. We did ours at our Gym as all classes there are free for members, but the teacher of that class also runs various classes throughout the week at a number of different locations within the nearby vicinity (nearby villages etc.)

Hi Happygirl,
You can try taichifinder.co.uk or taichiunion.com (Just put the www's back) Both these sites have instructor lists.
