I quite like to combine the GI diet (used in the proper sense of the word) and Gillian McKeith's recommendations (bar the faeces interest!). Seems to work for me.

I don't know what you are used to eating, but I would recommend eating:
* wholegrains (brown rice/millet/quinoa/amaranth if you can get it)
* One completely raw meal a day, e.g for lunch you could have an avocado/bell pepperand sprouted seed salad with garlic and soy sauce dressing.
* Start the day with miso soup and grainor porridge
* Eat no more than 2 pieces of fruit a day (because of the sugar) but really crank the number of veggies up!
* Avoid or cut down on dairy foods as they produce mucus in the body, and reduce the amount of wheat you consume.
* Base all your meals around veggies, trying soups, casseroles, stir-fries etc. Don't however, forget to include protein...
* Eat pulses such as lentils & beans to get adequate, healthy amounts of protein.
* Try tofu! It's low in fact and contains all 8 essential amino acids. Don't eat it on its own though, cos that's enough to put anyone off- try it in a recipes with lots of flavour!
Hope that helps:D
