Please Please could someone help me with these make up questions, I have got to make an appointment with my tutor to finish off my nvq2 as the five other girls in my class have already finished but due to a death in the family amongst other things I was not able to attend the last few leasons and we did not spend hardly anytime on makeup theory. No we did not get a book with make-up ,I have got an nvq2 book with everything else that I have done in but it does not have anythingabout make-up in itas we had to choose an optional unit, one was acrylic nails and the other make-up. My teacher was brilliant at all the other things but she really skipped alot over make-up and was abit old fashioned in how it was put together she didn't even have sponges to put make-up on with which I thought was very odd, we were putting it on with our hands so I brought my own sponges in. I thought I would really enjoy make-up but didn't feel that I got enough out of it and think I will concentrate more on all the other things that I have learnt . I have just finished a massage course at the same college which is part of the nvq3 and want to do the other things for nvq3 aswell, but I really enjoyed massage and am thinking of looking into using aromatherapy oils with it.
I have a one to one meeting with my tutor monday to finish off bits and sort my folder out and do my make-up exam which is hanging over me and I am worried I am not going to know alot, I don't really want to go out and pay alot of money for a book just for the exam as I have already paid over £20 for an nvq2 and nvq3 book. Anyway I would really appreciate any help you could give me to the questions so I could at least revise over the weekend, thank you very much for replying back to me no one else has I really appreciate any help. Have you just finished your nvq2?what are you planning to do after?.

Hope this is a little help to you.
by the condition of the skin e.g. dehydration, sensitivity, age (mature) elasticity, circulation, muscle tone, blemishes and where they are found = t zone or all over.
depends what products you are basing this on. If its dermalogica I can send you some information to this question.
powders = irredescent powder (glittery party style), foundation mix powder. Applied with a cotton pad and use a brush to brush off excess.[/ol]
foundations= liquid for combination, mousse for normal, cream for dry and compact for oily. Applied with a sponge or fingers in downwards movements to prevent vellus hairs standing up.
Eye products= liquid eyeliner or pencil applied by stretching the corners of eye up and across. Eyeshadows = powder and cream. Applied with a brush. Cream suitable for dry skins. Mascara applied with a tissue under the clients eye and in downwards movements.
Cheeks = blusher or bronzer in cream or powder, applied in sweeping upwards movements across the cheek bones.
Lips= lipliner and lipsticks and lip glosses.
concealers are liquid or stick concealers/creamy powder I think not too sure myself. Applied by dabbing over the area with a brush and blended in.
by applying a small amount of the colour across the side of the jaw to see if it matches.
colour correction comes in colour correctives or colour washes, they are used to even out skin tone before foundation is applied. Green colour is for pale skins and purple colour is for olive skins
highlighting and shading I think this is referring to im not too sure.
shading is to disguise any features to make your face look a perfect oval shape and highlighting is to emphasise the best features
not sure what this means
so you have a base colour (foundation) all over before you start applying products over the top and doing the blusher next is to add colour back to the face and its very practical to do eyeshadow before mascara so the powder doesn’t fall on the lashes etc.
could make the skin condition or appearance worse (eg sensitive skins) could make the makeup look to bold and harsh for the occasion or age of the person
think this is relating to dehydration circulation etc not sure.
so if you apply the make up in anything other than white lighting for a day make up the client could go into the natural light and there skin colour will be too dark for there skin and there make up will be too heavy
lighting can make a client sweat so powder is needed and the different lighting are used for different occasions eg a photo shoot would have a dark lighting and so would an evening do. Lighting is the main priority for a make over. It must match up to the occasion
Remove make up before going to bed, use a eye cleanser for the delicate area 9circular movements) Use toner and blot afterwards, use moisturiser in upwards movements to prevent ageing.
by concealer and colour corrective and powder and foundation
erythema (normal) allergic reaction (adverse), watery eyes (normal) should always remove product if it is irritating and apply cold compress. [/ol]
Hope this has helped a little
