Hi Clo
Like many jobs, you have to work your way up the ladder and, of course, it can depend on the location of the job that will determine how much you get paid.
Beauty Therapy can be very hard work. It aint all glamour you know...lol.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Working for someone else as a beauty therapist will unfortunately never be big bucks - you'll be lucky to get beyond minimum wage. Working for yourself isa much better option as you obviously get to keep any profits!
However I think it's worth pointing out that you can't beat happiness and satisfaction in a job, over money. I have had better paid jobs outside of the beauty industry that I hated every second of, and spent the day clock watching - no way to spend your life, and not worth the extra wages!! I believe it's better to do a job you love. Incidentally, beauty therapists recently came out tops in a poll for job satisfaction across all professions! At the bottom - lawyers! Interesting...!

one thing you might want to consider is looking at where you want to end up as usually a salon is only the beginning.
At your age you could train further a field to offer more specialised treatments that require higher qualifications then your basic beauty qualification.
For example botox can only be offered by medically qualified professionals. That way it wouldn't be a waste of time if you did go to 6th form and obtained a couple of A level qualifications too.
Just a thought as I'm wondering what services I would like to offer and seeing all these barriers cause I don't have the qualifications

I'd say don't let that be a factor and do what makes you happy. I wanted to do beauty at 16 but let my teachers etc persuade me not to. Fast forward 10 years I hate my office job and am almost finished my beauty course that I've been doing part-time. I do wish I'd just done what I wanted back then.
Money is not everything at the end of the day, your happiness is more important and it might start low but will improve!
