Not sure where to put this
If you remember a while back, some of us were having a discussion on breast reduction. Well my doctor just last night offered to compose a letter of referral for me. Mixed feelings as I'd fought for it hard and got nowhere with my previous doctors, so I kind of convinced myself I'd changed my mind. Am going to go through with consultations though just so I can make an informed decision either way.
Anyone with any experience/advice here it would be very much appreciated.

its a big decision (no pun intended), the scarring is more noticeable with reduction than with enlargement and obviously they will still be subject to weight gain and loss....whatever you decide do the homework and of course we will support you the whole way....still these things can take an age...

It'll probably end up in Women's Health under Ailments.
I once recommended that a GP refer a patient for a breast reduction. The sheer weight of them was increasing the curve (kyphosis) of her thoracic spine, which in turn was pulling her neck into extension & therefore causing a recurrent neck problem. [:@]
After the second time of her being referred for her neck problem - I broached the subject & she confessed that they had been the bain of her life and that she had started to stoop as a teenager to make them less noticeable. The start of the problem.
She was delighted when her GP very helpfully & referred her straight away, especially as she had always been too embarrassed to talk to her GP about it previously. [sm=dance.gif]
I tell this story as it highlights other problems that can arise from this problem.
Good luck - Andrew.

Good luck Sandie, you've nothing to lose going for a consultation. I can understand how you feel, but I think I would have it done, but perhaps I'm older than you and past babies etc.
Someone on here had had it done when we were talking about it a while ago, and was very happy with it. My GP also said it had a 'high satisfaction' rating.
Anyway[sm=hug.gif]I'm sure you will make the right decision for you.
Do keep us posted.
