Flippin' ek cazwix that baby must have looked about 6 months old![:o]
My two weighed in at 9lb 5oz and 9lb 6oz and I thought that was big!
If you want another baby then go ahead, it's your choice. Have you talked to your GP about your concerns re your blood pressure and clicky hips?

Hiya
Firstly let me welcome you to HP, do pop along and say hello in the new members forum....
Just a question you dont have diabetes do you as this often lends itself to larger babies, you are obviously more than capable of carrying a baby clicky hips or not as this would be your 5th!!! Dont sweat the Blood Pressure to much high is ok as long as you dont have pre-eclampsia.....they will monitor you closely and if they think you are at risk then they will give you a combination of tablets to take which help with people susceptible to pre-eclampsia......
Good luck and have fun trying...

My major concern was that of the blood pressure issue, but TigerBee has covered that one, better than I could - as a childless potential father. [8D]
What I do know about are 'clicky hips'. :D
Two main types.
1) Soft tissue click - otherwise known as 'tendon snap',. This is usualy where you can do a certain movement over & over & it will click every time. Whilst this may be a great party trick - don't go out of your way to do it, as you may create a problem of it. This is where a tendon gets caught behind a boney or other prominence during a movement until such a point that it snaps over it with a click or clunk. Fairly common & best left alone unless causing great pain.
2) Boney or Joint click - given your child bearing history this is a strong possibility. Given the size of your children at birth - this may have caused an instability of the pelvis. Either in the sacro-iliac (SI) joints (deep & to one side or both) or the pubic symphisis (front & central).
Usually I am more diplomatic in the treatment options available, but on this one I would definately see an osteopath, ideally prior to conception to check the stability of your pelvis. It is rare that any are so unstable that regular treatment is necessary.
The bottom line is - 'clicks' are fine if they are not causing pain or instability! [sm=scratchchin.gif]
If a joint clicks - at least you know it is moving & that is better than a joint that is stiff or 'locked'. That said - it may mean that it's opposite side partner is stiff or immobile (i.e. in the case of SI joints), so that may need addressing for long term health. :)
Hope this helps - good luck. ;)
Andrew.

I've had women in my antenatal classes who were insulin-dependent and, with good blood sugar control, had only slightly larger than average sized babies, so having diabetes doesn't stop you having another baby. I'd agree with Andrew about seeing an osteopath for the clicky hips. They'll have far more of a clue about how it will affect future pregnancy and labour than a doctor would.
As for the high blood pressure, PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) that's not always a sign of pre-eclampsia. You usually also get proteinurea and oedema to go with it, although that doesn't always happen. A simple blood test tells you whether you've got P-E or not, and even if you have had P-E before, it's generally less severe each time you get it.
So nothing to stop you having another baby. Just maybe look into the things you're going to have to live with whilst pregnant. The clicky hips might affect your labour, but it might just be a question of finding a good position.
Hope that helps

Hello again
First most important thing to do before a baby comes along is to stabalise your blood sugars and try and keep them there for around 3 months.....you will find if you are being medicated this will probably change to insulin when you are pregnant (ie not tablets) as it is much easier to control, the amount you would need to inject and the type of insulin (fast or slow) will increase with the term of the pregnancy. A lot of pregnant women often play catch up with the sugar levels when pregnant so it is difficult although not impossible to keep them under the magic 8. They will probably not let you go full term if you are diabetic and will set you an induction or section date depending on your circumstances and size of bay which is normally at the 38week mark... babies will normally spend a few hours in neonatal care whilst the bloods are monitored, some may need slightly longer whilst there sugars stable out (this can take up to a couple of days).
I have two lovely boyz and diabetes hasnt stopped that you just have to be good and behave and be observant in your pregnancy.
