Healing and HIV
Dear HP-ers,
Forgive my making a post that is to a large extent about me, me, me!
I have to be incredibly careful in the singing world to keep my HIV-positive status secret, because to let it out would be professional suicide. 'They' count on singers having dependable health throughout the weeks or months of a project, and needing to replace a singer late in the day is a costly disaster for them. Of course they're many years out of date regarding HIV and health, but we're talking prejudice in any case.
I've seen outed colleagues simply disappear off the books, wither and die (not my plan). Singing is my only source of income. It's a bit stressful and none of my singing friends (in fact only a small handful of any friends at all) can really know about my life.
However in the healing world I think I need to hold and also to give a more honest image of myself, partly because it says something about the experience I have to offer and also because I have to ask honest questions if I want to learn. I would love to read posts from healers amongst you who (a) are HIV positive too, (b) have cases of success or failure treating CD4, VL or HIV-related conditions with spiritual healing or (c) the same with other healing disciplines.
I keep myself very well now in my own way without any medication at all, but maintenance being easier than repair it doesn't really tell me anything about how to help those whose health has slipped.
Should any of you know anyone in the classical music world, please appreciate that this is a considerable gesture of trust that I'm making here. (I'll challenge the system one day, but only when I can afford to! I have other missions in the meantime...)
Thank you, HPers, for providing a space safe enough for me to 'come out', it really means a lot to me.
love and light to you
BV

Thank you for sharing with us BV. I already had great respect for you before reading this post. I don't have experience in the field of treatment of HIV related conditions but I do hope you find what you are searching for.
