Lip Problems

If anyone could help me it would be great.
I am having a very annoying problem with my lip. I have lost faith in my doctor and have to wait hours too see him I have better things to do with my time I have actually learned more on these forums than my doctors advice.
It doesn't seem to be the first time but it has came back. I have a small slit right in the bottom centre of my lip about half a centimeter going vertically its very painful when I smile or put water to wash me face.
I have used lip balm no effect. I know for sure I haven't got cracked or chapped lips but something else anyone had this before or can give advice please?
