pink hair mud

I saw this in a brochure once as part of a massage treatment, and thought that I would love to do this.
I will have a shower in my treatment room so would love to do this as part of a ritual.
So, does anyone use it, and how do you incorporate it into a treatment.

Posh Totty what is Pink hair mud?

Answers:

daisychain its from espa and you apply it to the scalp, massage it in, leave it and then rinse it off leaving the hair beautifully conditoned.
I have seen it offered as part of a massage treatment.

Answers:

Jabba The Hut Will you then be expected to dry and style their hair, or will you send them downstairs to the hairdressers :) Wow - what a service!

Answers:

daisychain well thats it isn;t it Jabba, they could have a massage ritual treatment and then shower, pop down to the hairdressers and get their hair done as part of the package. Or, go home with damp hair.

Answers:

Posh Totty Do you think people would go home with damp hair. I couldn't possibly do that. It would have to be styled and finished.

Answers:

cogsi I used to use Espa products many moons ago. After treatment the client would go home with the mud still in their hair to rinse off themselves at home. By the time it was massaged in it didn't look pink and the hair just looked greasy, pretty much like as having a scalp massage using normal oils.

Answers:

Posh Totty That sounds absolutely disgusting. Who! in their right mind would go for a treatment - coming out looking and feeling worse. I certaimly wouldn't.

daisychain hiya posh totty,
as I would be doing this treatment in a room above a hairdressers, the client could book a blow dry as an extra. I have discussed this with the hairdressers and they think its great.
A lot of holistic therapies involves oils massaged into the scalp, and to get the real benefits, should stay in the hair for a few hours before removing. So, some people are quite happy to put up with this as part of their treatment. They would know what to expect, so wouldn't organise a lunch date or go back to work if they knew this was the outcome of the treatment.
I do one treatment called Tibetan Head Massage, which, as part of the treatemtn, involves, anointing the head with oil. Its not the same treatment without the anointing, but if I knew a client had to go back to work, or was going shopping, etc, I would omit the oil.
Another treatment I did was training with the renowned Bharti Vyas, and she literally poured oils into the scalp and rubbed it in.
One more treatment springs to mind, Shirodhara - 3rd eye drip. this treatment consists of a gently stream of warm oil continually dripping down to form a stream of oil which anoints the third eye, and you would also anoint the scalp.

cogsi I can honestly say that having a scalp & face massage is one of thee nicest treatments to have - if your hair looks a bit greasy afterwards, it's just a small price to pay for the complete relaxation.
Clients know when they book in, their hair will look greasy afterwards (even without the pink mud) and make plans for the rest of the day accordingly.

Answers:

Posh Totty I know maybe it is just a personal thing, but I couldn't possibly have any treatments that involve messing up my hair with oils, it sounds horrible. I like to be pampered and come out feeling better. I know you are offering the hairdressers downstairs but are thay any good. I would have to bring my own stylist with me. Most people have their own stylist and wouldn't just go to any backstreet salon. That's my personal opinion anyway. - everyone is entitled to it you know.

Answers:

daisychain of course you are entitled to your own opinion posh totty.
I personally don't like my head being touched anyway, but I know that a lot of people do.
My thing is feet, absolutely love it, could have anything done to them, as long as they were being attended too!
So what do you like having done?
