Ankles have swollen after ski trip

Hi all,
both my ankles have swollen after a ski trip, and the area is very tender to the touch.
It has probably been caused by wearing the ski boots for 7 days; but I have been back for just over a week now and it has not reduced at all.
Does anyone know of any remedy?
What to eat/drink or what not to eat? type of exercise or herbal remedy etc,
and how long does this type of injury/swelling take to go down?
cheers
Jasmin

Answers:

Recommend you see a manual lymph drainage practitioner.( - or check this site Therapists Directory)
Do you still have full ROM? Is the swelling 'down' in the mornings? Is the skin hot or red around the ankle/top of foot?
In the meantime, make sure that you drink plenty of water and whenever you have the opportunity, elevate the legs, making sure that the backs of the knees are cushioned.

Answers:

Yes, I still have full ROM , and no, there is no redness.
It seems to be the same morning and evening. I notice it more in the evening as my socks make a mark from digging in (definately not normal for me).
I have no time or money to see anyone at the moment, I am really looking for some self help /self treatment, or nutrition or herbal info.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
