WORRIED NEWBIE
Hi
I am 41 yrs old and live in Gloucestershire. My problems started 2 yrs ago whenI had an ectopic pregnancy. Although no further worries there,I started to devolop other illnesses. (too many to mention!).Eventually after numerous blood tests, xrays and scans they found nothing abnormal. My GP diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia but I really need to see a Rheumatologist to confirm this.
My most worrying problem started in April.I had a cold, sore throat and cough. Then I got the dreaded "lump" and still have it. It is not a lump that you can see or feel, just a feeling of a lump of mucus that I cant swallow and when I clear my throat it goes for 2 seconds but is there again. My GP first suggested Reflux and prescribed Omeprazole 20mg once a day. After 2 weeks, no effect. Then he suggested Sinusitis, prescribes Sudafed but again no relief. Has now diagnosed Rhinitis with post nasal drip. Am taking Nasoles spray but not helping much. He has examined my throat and felt for abnormalities but says there are none. Has referred me, at my insistance, to ENT but that will take ages for an appointment to come through. I do experience heartburn regularly plus a little regurgitation and have excessive belching.(after every drink even!) I am also constantly clearing my throat and am even trying cider apple vinegar but that also doesnt seem to be helping.I am a cancerphobe anyway due to all these symptoms and no confirmed diagnosis and am really worried this is throat cancer. I sometimes also get the feeling of some foods sticking and a burning pain in my chest.
Please can anyone tell me if they have had similar symptoms and whatI can do. Am seeing GP again tomorrow to see if I can try a higher dosage of Omeprazole in case it is reflux, GERD or LPR.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
love
Scarlett

as well as seeing your GP I think a homeopath would be able to help

I'm surprised that your doctor hasn't mentioned this.

Hi
My GP did suggest Globus and I know that I swallow more due to my cancer fears so that wouldnt help. Its just with my other symptoms it doesnt seem likely ( and I am not that lucky! Would rather itbe Globus than anything else).
What is a homeopath and what do they treat? I have seen a Hypnotherapist but it did no good and cost a fortune!
Thanks
Scarlett.

Hi!
Sorry to hear of your problems - the onset of it is intersting & I would definately suggest a visit to a registered homoeopath & this problem can be sorted out in a gentle & drug / surgery free manner! Visit the Society of Homeopaths website for details of someone in your area. Treatment is reasonably priced (unless you live in the capital!) but consultations tend only to be once a month so it is affordable to most. If you join HSA, you get half your receipts back too so that makes it even better! Hope this helps. ;)
