Tooth Ache
Hi
My wisdom tooth is KILLING me, the gums all swollen and so is my cheek.
I've booked an appointment for Friday but I would like some advice if anyone has any on pain relief as paracetamol and ibuprofen are not helping. I've even tried ice and my sons teething gel.
It's so bloody sore.

One tip I've heard of is to use whole cloves - place 2 between the offending tooth and your cheek. You might want to chew them a little to release their juices. I think you can buy oil of cloves which also works well.
Hope this helps.

clove oil does do the job but as said up there^^^ it does taste pretty foul eww
however i totally recomend ambusol (not to be mistaken for anusol!!!!![sm=jump3.gif]lol) its available in gel or liquid form from the chemist and totally numbs the pain and if i remember right it tastes ok...... it can also be used for teethingin babies. Its a godsend in times of need and will see you through until your appointment at the dentist. Its defoworth a trip to the all night chemist....... will you get me 'something nice' while yr there hehehe:D
hope you feel better soon, take care

Thanks for the advice. I will go get some clove oil and some Ambusol to see which is best.
I'm in agony this morning. I tried codeine last night for some extra help but nothing is working.
I hope they will pull this tooth, I've never experienced so much pain since b4 I had my son!

I got some Anbesol liquid - god it tastes rank! But I feel a little better I can still feel the pain though. I have also bought some clove oil so I will give that a go later.
Anyone fancy pulling my tooth with some pliers? GAAAAAH!

hi. sorry to hear about your toothache, has to be one of the worst things, alongside ear ache. do you know anyone who does reflexology? this will help, if there is no infection. A handy pain relief method is to:
using your thump and forefinger squeeze each one of your fingers, especially your thumb. At the base of each nail. squeeze and release a few times. You can also do it on your toes. Do this few times a day, or when pain begins. when you have finished press the webbing in between your fingers, using the same technique as this will drain away any infection.
hope this helps you.

Thanks Donna
I have given that a try and will continue to do so.
I even rang my Nan for some healing over the phone yesterday. She's tops. It only died down for a short while though. I think I have an infection. :( Booooo It's so unfair.

Hi
Aloe vera gel is good for inflammation and pain. Just put some of the gel or aloe vera based toothpaste on the area.
