yellow colouring on eyelids
Hi everyone, my first post !!!
I have enjoyed reading this site for some time and have now logged in as a member, with the following query.
I have a kind of yellowy /orange colouring on upper eyelids seems to be there most of the time i consider myself healthy with no underlying problems (that i know of !! ) It is not always that noticable, but something that people close to me might comment on.
Anyone know what this could be an indicator of ? I would really appreciate any ideas.
Thanks guy's xx

Hmmm...I really don't have an answer, sorry, but wondered if it could be some make up product you're using or something? Or maybe just fatigue? I went through a long illness and have yellowing under my eyes - a little different, but I'm having a heck of a time clearing it up. I use banishing cream and everything, so if anyone has an answer, please do tell! Tx!

I am not an expert on such things either, but yellow colouring does usually indicate an sluggish liver. If you are still stuck, and the Doctor is unable to help, then I would suggest a visit to a good kniesiologist. They can usually help to sort out these things and can also prescribe supplements to help the liver (if indeed it is that, and I am only guessing here). Good luck anyway.

Hi jet princess,
At university we are trained to look for yellow deposits around the eyes especially in younger individuals, as they may be an indicator of hyperlipidaemia (excess fat in the blood). If I can remember rightly it is termed xanthelasmata, around the eyelids. Therefore may be an indicator of high blood cholesterol. A simple blood test can help dispute or confirm this.
It may just be a reaction to some cosmetics. Try not to worry, I think a visit to your doctor would be helpful, as June said.
