Teeth Decay and Bacteria
Hi All,
We have had our family dentist visit today and I wondered if anybody could give me some advice for alternative products to flouride to try with my husband and son.
My husband is 30 and has severe dental decay and a couple of absesses, he has been phobic of the dentist for years until things came to a head 18 months ago with his absesses and he couldn't stay away any longer, his back teeth are pretty much gone or in poor state and the dentist says they are full of bacteria which is eating away at his teeth, he visits the dentists a minimum of once every 12 weeks for more work and the dentist can not keep up with the decay.
He is otherwise in very good health, doesn't smoke or drink to excess, he is very fit, I can't vouch for his habits as a child but he eats well and cleans his teeth twice a day. The dentist says the only things he can do is use a flouide touthpaste and mouthwash and keep visiting the dentist for reconstructive work.
The dentist says that the condition is quite likely to be gentic especially so since his mum has poor teeth ( she is also phobic of the dentist )
This brings me on to our four year old son, he has got 2 cavities which need repair, Im so annoyed I know loads of friends children who munch on sweets all day and drink pop and their teeth are fine, we try so hard and yet my son needs fillings already.
Does anybody have any advice of experience on this, I really want to look after my sons teeth.
My teeth are great so Im hoping my daughter will get my genes for teeth.
Cheers

HI there
I suffer with bad teeth, since being little my teeth seem to disolve... this has led to a phobia of dentists as the last time i saw one almost a year ago i ended up in hospital because of bad treatment.
I suffer from decay and sore gums - I've recently started drinking liquid chlorophyll which neutralises acid in the mouth, its an antiseptic among other things and my gums are feeling much better and the decay hasnt got any worse.
If you want to know any more pm me... I'ts not a cure but it sure helped me.
