migraine/ear link?
my friend has been suffering periodically thru the winter with migraine. she has been taking prescription tabs which don't appear to have made any difference. however, she has just told me that she suffers with a 'thickness' behind her ear and has previously had this ear syringed. this didn't clear it at all. could there be a link between the ear problem and the migraines? she doesn't eat cheese as this aggravates the migraine but hasn't found any other dietary link. i think that part of her problem is that she suffers with s.a.d as she is much better during the summer. any ideas?

Stiff joints in the upper neck can contribute to odd sensations in & around the ears. If it's the outer ear, then C2/3 in particular can refer symtoms to ears.
Seeing an osteopath should resolve the problem if that is the cause and also think it likely that the migraines should improve also. If there are known associated foods and the migraines are still a problem, then suggest NAET to clear the food sensitivities.

Hi there,
In terms of chinese medicine there is a clear link between ear / nose / eye problems and migraines. Many of the channles that whose pathways go though the neck, shoulders and head pass close to the ear / noseand eye.
I have treated many clients who have found that if I treat their sinus problems ... their hearing improves. Regarding migraines ...the gall bladder channelwhich is commonlyassociated with migrainesascends the entire length of the body and passes by the eyes and actually ends at the ear ... so when I treat migraines, eye strain improves and hearing is regualted.
P.S. ...stress is a huge influence
Go to the British Acupuncture Council to find an acupuncturist in your area. ...student clinics are an excellant cheaper alternative.
There is a free booklet available from my website outlining an acupressure protocol for migraines .... it was a handout for my clients ...but is now for everybody ... good luck
Kind regards
Tim
