Treatment received
Hi there
I recently being giving a theraphy swaps with someone who is studying an energy therapy simlar to Reiki. The last session I received was quite painful on my cheek and left a very uneasy feeling. I felt so uncomfortable and gave feedback immediately that the area was not feeling right with the touch. I could still feel the reaction two day later as if the cheek area was exposed. When I mentioned this to the student she was quite defensive and did seem be able to give any advice.
I have not been able to provide a swap I feel uncomfotable with the reaction that I had.
I would really appreciate any suggestions as to how I reduce the exposed feeling on the cheek.

ummm, this is an interesting one, and I'm sure that you will be inundated with answers.
If this presented itself during a reiki session, I would look at both emotional and physical possibilities.
Firstly, have you had to recently "turn the other cheek"?
Or have you felt verbally attacked lately where it would be akin to being "slapped across the face"?
If no to either of these I would then look at physical possibilites, ie ulcers in mouth, mouth inflammations or nerve pain.
That is all that I can think of at the moment.
Hope this is of help.

If it still feels uncomfortable, I would be tempted to have it checked out. Perhaps it may be an early warning of physical problem?
Can't really add much more to Daisychain......

HI Cadbury,
How is your jaw feeling by now? I agree with garthur, it may have braught up to the surface a latent physical problem.
I once a gave a HSiatsu trteamnet to a friend. She woke up in agony in the middle of the night: the most horrendous tooth ache. Emergency visit to the edentist the next morning showed an infection in her jaw! Teh dentist siad it must have been there since ages...
Having said all this, if you do not feel comfortable with the person, then it seems sensible to stop receiving trreatments from her. If you don;t feel comfortable givng her a treatment hand on, you maight want to do the exchange as a distant Reiki. Or just simply explain that "it does nto feel right" for you to treat her.

Hi there
Thank you for taking the time and writing down your comments and advice
There are some really interesting points made and have got me thinking particularly the emotional link as I have not had physical conditions surfacing at the moment.
