Alternative healing and self healing help needed

Well, after getting completely and utterly cheesed off with the attitude of 'conventional' medicine and the nhs, Im absolutely determined to steer clear of them in future. Therefore, can anyone recommend any tried and tested methods of self healing or alternative therapies that work on an energy level /clear blockages that kind of thing. Im dealing with gallstones and an abdominal lump at the moment which Im sure are the result of some emotional blockage somewhere. Im kinda thinking that the human race survived for millenia before the age of GPs and pill popping, so can anyone point me in the right direction to find out more about healing myself? Or even any stories of natual healing that may inspire me? I havent been to the docs in years and when I eventually HAD to go, they really didnt help.

Hi Flame,
The NHS and the DR's that work for them as well as all the othre staff do some wonderful work and assist millions of people to be healthy and well, my own life was saved because of such DR's, surgeons and nurses.
I believe that energy and emotional blockages may result in illness and also block healing, it may be that in some cases the treatment from DR's is not perfect. I don't believe they claimed to have all the answers or to be perfect as they are human and often work under trying conditions, howevre, if you block them that wont help them help you.
If you have a lump in your stomach you may well need some medical help, DR's are healers too, and their methods include natural methods.
the human race has long used the services of doctors, and their knowledge has increased throughout history, they are still learning but have much to offer. Also many people didn't survive but individuals died from conditions that these days are easily solved.
If you suffer from an emotional blockage you may benefit from some reiki treatment and possibly some forn of counselling to help you mentally sort it out. EFT is also very handy, you would need to visit a practitioner first and they would help you deal with such troubles and give you self help for home..this might be a benefit.
Good Luck,
Hal

Hello Flame,
I agree with Halimah to some extent but I do believe that medical doctors can be blinkered about complementary therapies.
Gallstones (which I have had) are painful, particularly if they become trapped in the bile duct so I would get those removed asap, It's keyhole surgery now, unlike when I had mine done so should be quick healing. The lump in the tummy needs looking at though, and some sort of medical diagnosis done before you look at what you might do about it.
EFT is very good. Gary Craig's site is www.emofree.com. Hypnotherapy can help you to centre yourself but you need to go to a practitioner who is a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy in the UK. The NCH demands that therapists have 'flying hours' and qualifications before entry.
You could try alphadynamics, which again I have used very successfully for Stress and stress related illnesses at www.alphadynamics.com. Yoga and Meditation are excellent too.
Let us know how you get on and good luck!
Love,

Hi,
I agree Judith that some DR's are blinkered to complementary medicine s they are also busy with what they do and are trained to expect clinical analysis. If we do not speak to our FR's these sort of investigations will not take place.
Also, Flame, most complementary therapists would insist that you have your condition investigated by your GP before they will treat you, some may even require a note to say your GP is happy for you to recieve treatment from them.

Hi Flame,
As already suggested, if you feel you really don't want to go the conventional route, I'd try Reiki and look into the other therapies already suggested, all can have super results.
Also Flower Remedies are very helpful on emotional issues. Crystals can also be very helpful. Those two can take a bit longer to resolve the issues.
Homeopathy is another excellent therapy. It is possible to get a referral from your GP to a Homeopath on the NHS but you may well have to go on a waiting list which can take some time ( in my case, 8 months)
Have a look at all the forums here and see what you feel is right for you. Good luck, sending Reiki to help your situation if you wish it.

Thanks everyone.
I feel I really need something to boost my overall health and help me move through blockages so some of those suggestions are good. Im going to look into those.
Ive just have very bad experiences with GPs in the past and always seem to get the arrogant ones. My new GP misdiagnosed the symptoms when i first saw him 3 hours before I ended up in hospital with gallstones, and then didnt have my updated medical records and didnt even know I had gallstones on a recent visit (despite me personally handing the notes over the counter at the surgery).
I just think that getting frustrated at GPs is going to go against healing rather than helping. If I can boost my health alternatively then I'll be much happier, leaving the GP as a last resort.

hi flame,
I can ideantify with what you say there and my dad had a similar experience recently so i don't doubt the frustration thing, even so i do think you have to sometimes be a little direct with them and insist they give you the service you need.
of course if you are feeling fed up etc, frustration is the last thing you need and some complementary therapies are likely to be helpful in conjunction with conventional input as well.
if you leave the GP's as a last resort, your last resort might leave you weak and ubale to cope at all, so i suggests you get the rubbish out of the way first and perhaps ask a friend to help you get things in order. if your Dr is a pain, ask for another one!

Hi Muriel,
I agree with what you say but as you know from your own experience you have to find the right GP who will even accept the idea of referral to a complementary practitioner. I asked my own GP to refer me to a qualified hypnotherapist and he said " you don't need all that mumbo-jumbo, you need an anti-depressant", and promptly wrote me a precrption for Seroxat, which I was then on for two years until I found alphadynamics and solved my own problem with depression and panic attacks.
I changed my GP last month and this one is open to hypnotherapy but says there will be a waiting list of 12 months and the therapist must have an NHS referral number. So, I went private and for £40 got rid of a lifelong fear of heights. I can recommend it!

hi Flame7,
I couldn't agree more!
The lump and the gallstones seem to indicate that you have been becoming too densified - too earthbound.. maybe not enough spirit connection?
Therefore, I would recommend for you to go for a high vibration technique like Reiki which will reconnect you, and will also give you the techniques you need for self-healing.
I had gallstones also before (In chinese medicine this indicates that there is a lack of Mars force - the force that puts ideas into creation). I was going to go for surgery but my homeopath reminded me that that would be taking the self-healing power away from the body, and would only result in disempowering me in future. I took his advice and went on a course of homeopathic remedies that he prescribed, and hey presto, no gallstones anymore or since (that was 2 years ago). So I recommend you go for a therapy such as this, that works along with your body, encouraging it to heal itself.
I recommend that you look at the emotional or spiritual reasons for your condition, and also tackle it at the same time - happy healing! x

Oh Maya, thankyou so much, your post really encouraged me. In the days since I decided to deal with the problem without the aid of conventional medicine oddly enough my pain has dissappeared! The earthbound thing you mentioned is spot on, I have been neglecting my spiritual side lately. I do believe strongly in the body's ability to heal itself and your experience has given me a great deal of encouragement.
thanks again

Hi Flame7,
I completely relate to what you are saying about conventional doctors. I've had an utterly soul-destroying time with them. I've had arrogant 'specialists', who've thought I've gone to see them for some sort of intellectual sparring match with them, when all I want is some answers that make sense to the questions I put to them. My last experience left me feeling emotionally weak, demoralised, feeling hopeless and all in all, deeply troubled.
People think that you are being stubborn or 'anti-doctor' if you choose to turn your back on them. I always find this utterly insulting to the extreme as I am an intelligent person and the people dishing out the 'advice' have not experienced what I have.
If I'm being stubborn for refusing to go through painful diagnostic techniques without an explanation of what they are looking for, then I'm stubborn. If I'm being stubborn for not wanting to go through the emotional mill that deepens my depression and leaves me feeling I have no hope, then I am stubborn. If being stubborn is having no faith in the 'treatments' that Western medicine offer, that leave me with greater risk of osteoporosis, alopaecia, lower blood platelet levels, then, damn it, I AM STUBBORN!!!
If I break my arm, I go to the doctors. If I need surgery, I go to the doctors. If I have a chronic condition that the doctors can't cure I go somewhere else!! I am sick of well-meaning friends who say "What are the doctors doing about it?" If I have anything to do with it: NOTHING, because I always feel worse for going to see them for my illness than better, so I simply can't rely on them to heal me. I have to do that myself.
Most people give the advice of going to the doctors out of fear. Go to the doctors if it is right for you and not because someone else says so.
[sm=soapbox.gif] PHEW!!!!!
Sorry for the rant! Good luck with your journey.
