Realistic weight loss goals.
Realistic weight loss goals.
I am 5'9" - 186 pounds - 18% body fat (according to the army's neck and waist method of measuring it..)
My original goal was 160 in 16 weeks, but my friend says that getting 160 in 16 weeks is extremely unrealistic and I should go for 170. He claims that once I hit the 180 mark it will get very difficult to lose weight.
I do fast paced weight training 5 times a week, eat a relatively clean 1800-2000 calories a day (one day a week I eat about 600-800 cal over that, though if willpower allows I plan on cutting cheats out completely.), and starting this week I plan on introducing 30-60 minutes of cardio into my days 3-5 times a week.
What is a realistic weight loss goal for me in 9 weeks as well as a more long term weight loss goal for me in 16 weeks?
(I leave Iraq in 9 weeks, and I visit friends and family on leave in 16)
Thanks.
everyone is different. just keep doing the work and you'll see results in 16 weeks!
26 pounds in 4 months is extremely realistic your friend obviously has no idea what hes talking about. You could lose 2 pounds a week.
I lost 25 pounds in less than six. I think you have a reasonable goal. I think if you stick to it and no cheating, you will prove your buddy wrong.
i lost 30 lbs in less than 3 months two years ago... i didn't do it the healthy way though as I was young and stupid.
A few months back, I was following a Musclemag diet plan. It called for a high-protein diet. I literally lost one pound per day over 20 days with it. The article was listed about 3-4 months back...something like lose 20lbs in 20 days or something like that. I didn't do hardcore cardio or take any fat burning supplements. I was basically testing the diet itself it to see how effective it was. Within 2 weeks of stopping the plan, I put all 20 pounds back on. I was eating like a fiend and almost all of it was junkfood. :/
I think it you followed a similar high-protein diet plan, you could easily knock 26 pounds out in under 16 weeks without any problems.
the cardio should definitely help
