Cardio before of After?
Cardio before of After?
Should I do cardio before or after gym? what is better for you?
if u lift weights, always after.. and ideally, do it MUCH later like at night, or just an off day.
I've see arguments for both sides and both make valid points. i believe that doing cardio before weights gives you more calorie burn over an extended period of time, and cardio after wights gives you more immediate burn directly after you're done (or it could be vice versa i'm too tired to recall..) either way i tend to do 5 minutes of cardio before weights and then after weights i do 20-30 minutes or so. i've also seen some current research indicating that if you do 20 minutes or 30 minutes of cardio, then take a 20 minute break and then do 20-30 more minutes it's more beneficial for weight loss than if you would have done 40-60 minutes straight...
i guess the theory behind doing cardio directly after weights is that you'll use up your glycogen stores while lifting weights and then when you do the cardio your body is going to be using an alternate fuel source (fat) instead, which would make it ideal for someone trying to lose weight (like myself).
i do cardio in the morning and weights at night so there is a huge gap between the two
