Heat able to crack glass??
Heat able to crack glass??
The glass door in my sun-room is cracked! Not just a certain portion, but the entire glass door. From the crack pattern, it doesn't look like it is impact by a material. I have no other explanation other than the heat outside causes the glass to expand, thus causing it to crack.
Is this even possible? Its hot outside, but not THAT hot.
Well, if it was REALLY hot outside that day, i.e 30+, and you had AC on full blast inside the sunroom, I suppose it's possible the difference might have caused a crack.
But most likely something hit it, or something pushed it.
dude you're supposed to let the water run for a couple mins on hot days before washing your car. rookie.

If something hit it or pushed against it, shouldnt the cracks show up in such a way where they originate from one spot, and spread to the rest of the pane? The cracks that I have is pretty consistent through out
If the glass is between a room that ACed and the other side is natural air; then yes it is a possibility that the heat difference between the two sides may have coursed your glass to crack. Unless it is a "tempered glass" (or whatever is the industial term for heat treated glass). But yes, is it a quite a possiblity that the termperature difference caused it to crack.
Is the crack neat and linear; like it is one wavy line? If so, then its the temperature difference.
