obviously the 2nd is better from the lat tower but if i am thinkign of buying one should i wait to save enough for the 2nd?
is the 2nd more expensive because of the lat tower?
Yeah basically thats what it is. You can buy just the power cage for $399 MSRP, or add in the lat tower option for a total of $799.
You can get just the power cage for $360-$370ish though. I believe its $360 with shipping included if you order it through here and apply a coupon. I got mine for $369 through dumbbellbuddy.
Well I would recommend the lat tower if you have the cash and enjoy doing exercises with the high and low pulley cables...I don't own it but I did try one and really liked it, it was really smooth...I was impressed
But it also depends on the bench you own or the bench you are planning on buying...
If I never had a lat tower the power rack one still wouldn't be an option, because I am getting a bgger bench because I want a stronger, convenient bench...I am buying the Lamar bench and for it to fit in upright position you need to put the bench between the crossmember of the rack...
So it really depends on what you want for a bench...remember you can get a good compact bench (Bodycraft f320, powertec is good, Ironmaster is really popular because of the size)
I think you can get a stand alone lat tower from powertec for the same price as the one that goes in the rack...the dealer I went to was selling the lat rack attachment for 499 cdn and the stand alone for 499 cdn...so it depends on what you want, the space you have and your own personal goals...
Good luck, JM
My neighbor has the full Ptec setup w/lat attachment. He told me he should've just got the rack since he gets a better back workout from weighted pullups and barbell/dumbell rows. I think he's right.
Spend your $300 on dumbells or something more usefull.
