Halo 3 preorders broke the record for the most preorders for any game, ever (over a million as of lasst week according to G4). Legendary edition is expected to sell out the first day and has by far the highest demand.
So, how many people here have pre orders? and of which level?
When I heard about a damn master chief HELMET coming with the Legendary Edition, I was pretty excited but it turned out to be the size of a cats head:( Much less awesome.
Im ordered the Legendary the first day preorders were available.

i'm just gonna get normal edition. my friend is getting legendary and he plans to put the helmet on his cats head so i'll go over to watch that.

if you do basic you might as well not preorder. I remember with Halo2 the day after launch there were TOO MANY basic's at target, so i think youll all be fine.

Im not THAT interested in it...ill rent it though have you played the demo? i wasn't interested in it until i played the demo. there are so many good things about it. its got a great/original plot, great graphics especially water effects, moral choices to make, dozens of ways to slay your foes, and plenty of customization.

Im the kind of guy that would buy a STI limited over and STI...or go for the gusto with a "subaru impreza WRX STI spec. c type RA-R" haha (im a subie fan)

with the point system, do you need to have xbox live gold to download things like the oblivion expansions?

I do think the other stuff is a bit much...Halo Zune, special controllers, even Mountain Dew Game Fuel for Halo 3 (even though I really like the flavor)
